Hey guys. I've had the UR Axleback for a couple months now and I'm quite satisfied. The aggressive, deep tone sounds great and although it's a little on the loud side, I don't mind it. At highway speeds (60mph-75mph) while in the driver seat, the drone is bearable and almost unnoticeable with music on. However, I recently sat in the rear seat and realized how intolerable the drone is for passengers--to the point where I can't have a conversation with those in the front without yelling.

BTW, I did look into sound deadening material. But I don't want to drop loads of cash for such a minimal change. [According to what I've read around google sources. For some it was hit and miss.]

I know there are plenty of guys running the UR exhaust whether it be the turboback, catback, or just the exhaust alone. Just looking for some insight whether you experience drone on the highway (60mph-75mph). If not, how did you defeat the drone? And what setup are you using?

I was thinking about upgrading to the full turboback as well. Of course with all cabin noise reduction possible: Downpipe, HFC (to pass inspection), and both mini-muffler & resonator in the mid-pipe section.

Would upgrading the stock pipes only make the drone worse (even with the resonator & mini-muffler)? If so, I'll just leave it as is or look for a less droning exhaust.

Thanks in advance!

Does this drone sounds like washing machine or dryer in cycle? or Helicopter?
I've notice the sound when I install my FMIC. lol.

If you can find the source of the sound, sound deadening material will work.

Do you already have the resonator and mini muffler?

Lol hahaha Actually the drone isnt as bad as everyone thinks. I can still talk to people in the back seat with no problems.

I will make a video tomorrow on my way home from work so u guys can see how not bad it is. You guys be the judges. I personally think its fine.

Jrox just do it!!!! No drone=less powa drone=more powa lol

Only the stock resonator as I only have the axleback. Thinking about just biting the bullet and upgrading to the full TBE with the resonator and mini muffler. I just don't want the drone to get any worse than it is.

Let us know how that turns out for you. I was interested in that exhaust and the fact that it comes with those two options makes it more appealing then the borla one which is probably really loud.

I have the entire UR system from the Turbo back and love it I got just the resonator on the mid pipe but in Hind sight after spending 6 hours in the back seat with the wife driving across Canada maybe I should of Opted for both the resonator and midpipe. Do yourself a favour and spend the extra money. LOl! Don't get me wrong I love it to death just the drone can wear on your on long trips if you happen to be the one in the back seat.

the Borla is very loud, I love it but the neighbours not so much...PLUS there is a nasty, booming resonance at about 120 km/h (2600 rpm) under load (uphill)

Good to know. I don't want it much louder then stock. I just want it to sound a bit more throaty if you know what I mean. So the UR with both resonator and mini-muffler sounds like it would be for me.
