Looks like it was pretty difficult getting all those screws out. How did you reach the ones in the middle?

That'll leave a mark. LOL. It looks like you have to fill it in, or paint it body color or black. Maybe have vinyl put over the chrome and then clear bra it. What are your plans?

first take the plastic panel off under the hood that is just beneath the air intake.

when you look through that gap, you will see all of the shiney phillps-head screws.

the lower and side ones you can get to by pushing the lower "mesh" grill back (it just pops in and out) and putting your hand through there.

the only tool needed in a stubby phillips-head screwdriver.

What do you plan to do?

first.......i need to find somewhere to buy a reasonably priced factory replacement........to put on while i experiment.

........then i am going to: cast a mold to make replacements out of

carbon-fiber or fiberglass. take it to a plater and have it "black chromed".

or just sand down to plastic and paint satin black or dark charcoal gray.

Click on the banner ad above and go through South Coast Mitsubishi...you get a discounted rate on parts. Steve is the parts guru and mention ClubRalliart and he'll give you the discounted rate. I buy all of my stock Mitsubishi parts through them.
