A couple guys wanted more info on installing the evo x style front bumper cover. I ordered mine from scorpionmotorsports on ebay. It was kinda pricy. I also ordered a backup one from ARS and it was much cheaper but the scorpion came in first so it got installed. Both are almost identical and good quality. The overlays are made of fiberglass and painted black. The problem is they are made for lower model lancers so the chrome ring on the ralliart makes them to long. I tried cutting and sawing but that was going no where so I bought a dremel which made it much easier. I would suggest you use something similar if you try this.

Here is where you need big cojones. The matching holes need to be cut into the cars bumper. I left the bumper on for this for some support. After the holes are cut the Styrofoam behind the bumper has to be taken out. I tried leaving the bumper on for this but ended up taking it off and it was much easier.

Once the bumper is back on you have to glue the overlay on. I tried like 5 different glues / epoxy some worked better than others. I recommend getting the strongest water resistant stuff you can find. It’s a must to have some claps to hold it on while the glue dries.

It turned out ok maybe not as perfect as I would like but as good as it’s gonna get.

Wow, good job. Paint the bumper reinforcement black so no one can see it does not go all the way through. When you put an EVO X intercooler on, open up the reinforcement so you can get some air flow through to it.

How much was the part? Post up a link for where to buy them!

Thanks! I'm saving my pennies for this :D

Here at RRE it works out like this:
Used EVO X FMIC $150-$300
Install $200
Cosworth drop in panel filter $43
Axle back exhaust $350 installed
EVO X BOV $50-$160 (used or new)
Dyno tune with pill and a new fuel pump relay $400

Hopefully in the next month or two and was planning on cutting the brace holes for more air when I do.

The scorpion one off ebay is like 150.
