Just wanted to let you know that I am new to this forum but not to the wonderful world of internet!! I am hopefully in the process of getting the 2009 RalliArt which I am waiting upon as of tomorrow. I wanted the EVO but it was too costly for my needs of transport so I am satisfied with the RalliArt. They say I will more likely be getting it since we've made the talk. The process will go through tomorrow since banks are not open at the moment.

So part about me, I am from the South Coast of Massachusetts. My name is Sebastian and I will be hoping to meet some of the people nearby.

Welcome, and good luck tomorrow.

If you wanted to, you can post the options and pricing they are giving you. We can probably give some comparison numbers. May help you get a better deal.

Just post in general...what's up with you guys not posting, that is the only way the site will grow. I can't post up every topic.

Good luck on getting the new Ralliart, it's a great car!

Believe it or not, sticker was $27,900 and it was on sale for $23,900 but I have negotiated down to $18,500. So this is why I got it but I wanted it badly anyways since I was in the market for one between this and WRX. And I have only put down $1000 ($500 for the 95 Hyundai and $500 cash). Also this was President's day sale weekend. Gosh man!! I wished I had the car today but won't have it till Friday.

I don't see how...that would be well under what the dealer pays for it. I'm just saying...

Same with me but after looking at the paperwork, It was $19,500 (sorry, my mistake) and then they added the gap insurance since I don't trust any car insurance companies and also added 10/100,000 bumper to bumper warranty. So coming up with sales tax and fees came to a total of $24,000 as what the papers says.

By the way, I have the car now and I just absolutely in love with this car and it is tempting me to drive hard sometimes but I would rather do it easy for first 300 miles then play here and there to about 1,000 miles, then go for oil change. Oh, also they gave me half a tank which I wasn't too happy about. I went to fill up with 91 gas, after driving around with a half tank and down to little less than 1/4 tank for about 55 to 60 miles (I couldn't remember exactly). Is this normal? It was a total of about $22. But I have noticed the car has been eating gas pretty quick than what I am used to on my old car. Does the engine have to be broken in to get used to this, then the gas will ease out a bit? I tried to do some research about this but to no availability. Any help would be appreciated. and I figured it would be ok since I went through the same stuff with my Saleen Mustang years back.

Yes, until broken in the car will consume slightly more fuel due to higher friction in the engine. The friction will reduce during break in and your mileage should go up, not much, but slightly.

That's what I thought, thanks for the clarification.

dude, it's a turbo. I mean, granted, I get better milage in this then the high-powered EVO I got out of last week, it depends on how you drive, when just commuting casually, I was able to get 28mpg on hywy (not flooring it) & you still have plenty of passing power as well w/ this new RA. In sustained boost, yer definately gonna loose gas, just the way it is. Try alternating habits & see what changes. & hey, allot of people are dissapointed w/ the milage from their Prius - go figure!

Actually Prius buyers are more upset because they expect good fuel mileage and when they don't get the advertised EPA figures, they go a little nuts...well some of them do.

that's what I'm saying, driving habits = difference.

damn 24K for RA with 100K Bumper to bumper? you are complaining about MPG???? damn you got a hella of deal I paid 29K 5K more than you did and I only got 36K bumper to bumper. Excellent negotiator! I could of got the similar deal but for test drive with 1,800 miles on it and it was WW with no NAV and I wanted GG with NAV.

As far as mpg first put your info on dash for MPG meter.

The trick in getting better gas mileage is how you put pressure on Gas Pedal.
Learning how to put just enough pressure takes practices. Once you start feeling resistance from the pedal dont put anymore pressure.

getting up to speed initially doesnt get good gas mileage so try to get up to speed as fast as possible and learning to coast/cruise will.

1st gear to 10mph
2nd to 15mph
3rd to 20mph.
4th gear doing 25mph will get me 25+mpg.
5th gear doing 35-45mph will get me 25+mpg.

Freeway are on 6th gear doing 65-80mph will get me 25+mpg.

Stop and go kill the gas mileage. Learning to put gear in neutral at red lights can save you little bit of gas.

I get average of 22mpg mixture of stop and go, street and freeway.
Sometimes I do have the urge to punch it but I'll save that for the tracks!

I got 4,908 miles to date had it for two months, 9 days, and counting...
I got to check my receipt on how much I have $$paid the gas station so far.

I've had my Ralliart for about two months, and ten fillups. The gas gauge definitely moves more quickly on the bottom half. I average about 130-140 miles on the first half of the tank, and only about 80 or so on the bottom end. Not what I would necessarily call a "problem" with the car, but it would be cool if "half" meant "half."
