I took my car in to the Dealership for the Type C service as I now have 25,000 km on the car. This also incudes everything covered inder type A and B services etc.
The problem is they performed AWC-REFLASH ECU SEE TSN-SC09-002
Cause:
22571195 ACD HYDR UNIT..REFLASH ECU TSB-SC09-01
PARTS:
25578 22571195
LABOUR:
0.30 PERFORMED SC-09-002 REPROGRAMMED AWC ECU.
I talked multiple times with the head of service and he never at anytime mentioned anything about reflashing anything. My question is, does the AWD have a separate ECU? Is it possible they have wiped out my performance ECU tune that cost me a couple thousand dollars to get? I had to take a trip to the states aprox $400 for the tune then gas, food, hotels etc.. to drive to a different country. Long story short is my custom dyno tune gone or still there.
I told the guy he was to phone me for approval for anything to be done. fact is he did phone me back 3 times but each time reflashing the ECU was never mentioned. Can someone shed some light on this cause I am in the dark and in a dark place about this.

That is a different ECU, you shouldnt worry. Your car still feels tuned, no?

The other couple things the service manager phoned me about was the fact I finally had a check engine light come on. Code P0420 I was told it to be because of my Ultimate Racing Exhaust specifically the Catalytic convertor system efficiency below threshold. This is simply due to the fact that It has been dangerously cold here around -30 to -40 degrees Celcius. The catalytic convertor is not getting hot enough to burn off the unburnt hydrocarbons etc... Thus tripping the sensor. No big Deal.
2nd phone call was to tell me front brakes had less than 3mm of brake pads left. I asked him to find out if there was an upgrade from the factory pads. He said he would check and call me back. which is phone call 3 telling me he had found a Wagner performance pads for any extra $50.00.

Hey Mike,
Hard to tell as it is -41 C outside so did not want to push car tonight or rev it too high and roads are snow packed and ice covered. The C service cost me about $330.00 the brake job about 260 and the little extras like checking the check engine code and the tax enviro levy etc.. made up the rest of my $ 670.71 bill. This with nothing really wrong with the car LOL ! Here I just thought I was going for another oil change.

Hi Mike, I was wondering what brake pads would be best for the ralliart? I will be needing new pads soon..

We have a stock type pad, the Centric Posi-Quiet for $55 a set for the fronts.
Also for something a little dustier but good enough for hard canyon runs or a track day is the Stoptech Sport friction pads for $65 for the front. That is what I run on my car. The front pad is a common pad so literally every level of friction is available. These two are just the best bang for the buck.

Do you have the Stoptech sport friction pads for the rear too?

Right now just the Centric Posi-Quiet pads. Probably a few months out for the rears for the Stoptech pads. THey work fine now. Most of the braking happens in the front. I have not noticed any imbalance.
