I forgot to post a progress thread here, but some of you have probably seen my car already. Here it is anyway!

2011 GG Ralliart

Mods to date (2/2/11):
- Evo X License Plate Frame
- Blacked-Out Nose Ring
- K&N Drop-In
- Evo X FMIC
- AMS UICP
- AMS Intake
- AMS Small Battery
- AEM Digital Gauges (UEGO and Boost)
- Perrin Steering Column Dual Gauge Pod

Update 1:
+ Evo X FMIC
+ AMS UICP
+ Black-out Nose Ring

Update 2:
+ AEM Digital Gauges
+ AMS Intake
+ AMS Small Battery
+ jTran Studios Dyno-Tune

First tune with the above mods, we ended up with a modest and conservative 260/260. After spending more time with jTran Studios and some input from Bryan@GST and Mike@RRE, we cranked up the boost and fine-tuned some MIVEC maps.

Final Output on jTran's AWD Mustang Dyno: 277whp/290wtq

Thanks a ton to Mike from RRE for his input. jTran Studios has been a great partner with me (I work at a Mitsubishi dealership), and I am more than happy to help him expand on newer Mitsubishi models, especially the unique middle-dog that is the Ralliart.

Definitely impressive numbers for such minimal mods (though it does seem like a bit of an optimistic mustang dyno lol). The exhaust is really hitting it's limits now. With a better flowing exhaust I should be over 300lb-ft. The BoV also needs an upgrade, though not sure which one to go with yet.

I must be an unlucky person however, because v2.5 was released 2 days after my retune. Expect an update in the next week with possibly an exhaust upgrade!!! :D Also working on my own custom LED fog lights, stay tuned!

Here's another teaser of my fog light project. I just need to finish the wiring but it's so freaking cold to work on my car =[

Those are great numbers!
Fog light project looks interesting.. It reminds me of the the Sports Compact Car issue when they first test drove the Evo X...

i see you have the ams small battery, and that you also said that you dont like working on your car in the cold so im assuming you live in a place that experiences true cold, and not like all these californians :D

my question is, how does the small battery hold up in the winter? does it have enough power? notice any differences betweeen this and the old one?

i have been contemplating doing this mod for a while now but havent had anyone to talk to about it

haha actually I'm in Texas (Houston to be specific) lmao

I haven't had any problems here starting, though the lowest it's been over here is about 25degrees

I got the small battery over a relocation because several people including my tuner suggested the small battery. If you relocate to trunk, you still have to run two leads to the front, and then you have to worry about secure mounting of the battery (vibration is bad for car batteries)

I would call AMS themselves about the battery and your climate. They were honest and helpful, and will tell you truthfully if you might have trouble starting. They advise some customers to swap out to the normal battery in the winter.

EDIT: and yes the fogs are inspired by the concept X fog lights. I would be going the easier route and mounting them on top, but the Evo X license plate frame blocks it. I knew some part of me never wanted to install the damn frame, but too late now with holes in my bumper =[

Looking good man. You forgot to add my DRL Bypass to your mod list. JK, lol. :p

haha, I forgot to mention my HIDs at all, yet for some stupid reason listed a simple blacked out nose ring lol. Should prob fix that. And my customers send their thanks/appreciation for their HID/DRL relays as well :)

And since a few of you actually posted some interest, I decided to quit being lazy (it isn't THAT cold down here in Houston lol), and finished the job. Hardest part was the wiring/connectors. I rummaged through an old amp for some metal to use as a connector into the old fog-light plug. Found enough to make 4 metal strips (2 prongs each plug). The wire mesh had such a high level of friction it could probably stay on by itself when wedged in there, but I ziptied them at two points. Not a perfect job, but so far I'm happy with it. Maybe I'll try a better set later - I kept the stencil to cut new meshes in the future.

SO HERE THEY ARE :D

Ouch! sorry just climbed back up into my chair from off the floor. I was laughing so hard after you complaining about it being so cold, then telling us your from Texas. LMAO!

Try getting a car to start at -50C and that's with the block heater and battery blanket plugged in and boosting it with jumper cables and gas line antifreeze in the gas tank.

You can only try for 5-10 minutes at a time because you need time to warm up and if you go any longer you will draw too much juice from the second car where it will stall as it won't have enough voltage to keep firing the sparkplugs to keep engine running then you will have 2 dead batteries and 2 cars not going any where.

haha I know lol, I can't imagine living somewhere where it snows. I haven't lived anywhere far enough north since I was like...10, and at that age I definitely knew nothing about cars. Everybody around here complains it's so cold when in reality we all know it's nothing and we're just being wimps!

Ironically, I have an extra AEM digital volts gauge that I need to get rid of if you want it LOL :p

car's filthy from the weather. It's a nice day today but weather says it's going to rain tomorrow, so no car wash =[

I really like how they turned out. I might redo the driver-side because I think it's a little crooked. Not sure what else I could do to improve on the design though. Open to ideas for v2!!! :D

I think it would look better if the edges were rounded off and cut at angles to match the shape of the opening more.

hahaha I work sales actually. I'm a salesman for a Mitsu dealership :D

yesterday night, had customers come in. They parked, walked right over to my car and started looking at it. I walked over to help them.

"This car is awesome, I've always wanted one"
"Yep the Ralliart is a great car"
customer walks around the front, notices the license plate "oh this is a used car?"
"Nope, this is my car"

and another customer asked me if the LED fogs were a 2011 change haha "nope, did that myself"

and tons of other stories haha, it's fun working here sometimes

So picked up a used X Turbo and Manifold. Still negotiating the rest of the parts for a swap. I didn't think I would land a deal on these parts this soon, but looks like I'll have an X Turbo sooner than I thought

can't wait! :D

Again, I'm no craftsman so they're not perfect. I made these by hand with scissors, but I'm pretty happy with it so far. The zipties were temporary until I take them off and try to cut another set of mesh to get a better fit, but I've been too busy/lazy to make a v2.

As you can tell there's a little gap on the passenger side and some along the top curvature. But I can guarantee that you won't see it from far away.

The main goal was to make something that isn't as permanent as sawing off a portion of the bumper. The biggest problem is the fog light housing is part of the bumper. The mesh hides it, and I've always wanted to try these LED fogs (I hate the circle dimple fog lights on the mean nose)

the total cost of this was only around $60, and easily removable/redoable if I wasn't satisfied

hope this inspires someone else to try it. I love the look of it, especially at night! :D It may not look perfect, but you don't buy lights for how the look OFF and in the daylight right?

i like it i think im gonna be trying this out soon to but i think i might try some thicker mesh so the holes are slightly bigger and just leave the fogs out because they dont suit my puprose for right now cause i only drive in the city and want more air for track days. thanks for posting these up!

I wanted a bigger mesh with bigger holes as well, but it just seemed too vague ordering this stuff online based on pictures. I didn't want to waste $10+ trying mesh after mesh. I got this sheet of mesh from Home Depot for $2

If you do find a good, wide mesh, let me know. I just don't feel like buying one after another and waiting for shipping on each one while I try to find one I'm 100% satisfied with

and I forgot to mention, I used zipties because the mesh actually has a lot of friction against the bumper. It can actually stay there on its own, but I used zipties with the holes from the fog light housing just to be safe. careful when test fitting and installing, it CAN scratch the paint. It's not too bad, especially since it's on an area that isn't looked at too much, but I know some people are paranoid

hey exyia, did you wire the LEDs straight to the foglight wires? so are they programmed to the fog light switch?
