............................No.

This is a legitimate "show and shine" thread, so no need for that kind of attitude. If you don't want to post pictures, don't post anything at all.

On that note, I also have stock wheels. I don't plan on getting any wheels until these stock Yoko's have bit the dust, then I'll be getting both tires and wheels at the same time.

pbassist12
03-17-2011, 10:16 AM
I did like 4 coats, my first one was really shitty so i think i did 5 in total. I bought 3 cans of plasti dip and used two but i still have half left on the 3rd one. Two cans should be fine but i bought a 3rd cause i wanted to touch up some spots, plus it doesnt hurt to make it look nice. The hardest part is getting the side of the spokes, thats what i used the 3rd can for

I'm lowered on Eibach Sportlines and the tires are 225/40's.

No mods necessary. I have had no rubbing whatsoever. Even with three full sized passengers plus me, no issues. I'm gonna try 235's next and see if it remains trouble free.

What offset and tires on the Enkei!

On my Enkei RPM2s, the wheels are 18x9 +35.
The tires are 265/35/18s.

These WILL NOT fit on a stock RA, rolled or otherwise.

wher u get those CF fenders

The fenders are by Seibon. A 1/2" boarder was left around the vent to accent the CF and give the vent the appearance of being slightly larger. I don't recommend Seibon at all. Fitment is time consuming and the end result is moderate to good at best. Sometimes you can get lucky though. These fenders were for an Evo X and required some cutting and re-drilling to fit. Also required is an Evo X front bumper....

2 things...

1. I actually like that Ralliart badge. It looks like we can take out the side markers and cover it with that - and then we'll have a more clean looking RA badge like M3's and AMGs. Where did you get it?

2. This is probably the first time I've seen GSR rims on an RA that I like. I don't know why, but this might have sold me to just get a used GSR set of wheels/tires for much less than RPF1's when I upgrade

No I currently have switched back to the stock rims while I wait fo the fender rolling tool to be shipped. So I still have to roll fenders but could not afford the proper one at $250.00 got the smaller hand tool from Eastwood company through ebay for 36.99.

Yes I like the look of the badge but not necessarily the quality. Will see how many car washes they survive. I would never remove the side markers as I want to be seen on the road. LOL ! Just think old people.

I picked up my rims for 500 bucks and they came with used stock tires on them complete with the pressure sensors.

I had a young man at a red light ask me why I would put Ralliart stickers on my Evo X. I replied I don't have an Evo X, he wasn't convinced LOL !

Well Ralliart is/was Mitsubishis performance division just like AMG, TRD, NISMO, MUGEN, etc so you can technically put a RA emblem on any mitsu.

What was required to run this particular setup? From what I can tell you had your fenders rolled. Did you have to pull out the rears? I am also on coilovers and was curious to see if I could achieve something similar as far as width of wheels.

Got the rears rolled today ever so slightly. He mentioned he barely had to do much at all as I was right on the edge. He is an AutoX driver in my region and took it through its paces for me to be sure. Of course, so did I once I got my hands on it. :)

No rubbing at all in extreme situations on the 245's at +35 at stock height. I plan on getting pictures this weekend with it being nice out.

Stretched tires, negative camber, and lots of fender work (pull/flare/etc).

My friend with a '11 GSR just bought another set of rims (this will be his third set). So he asked if i wanted to buy his old rims. The rims are 18x9 Motegi MR122 with 225/35 tires for $600. He's done plenty of donuts with those wheels so i'm gonna try to get him down to $500 What do you guys think? Should i go for it?

If thats the case, they are gonna poke a bit and will rub if your lowered and don't have rolled fenders.

My friend is lowered 2.2" all around, has 5mm spacers and his fenders arent rolled and doesn't rub. I'm at stock height but don't plan on lowering.

Mkid
05-13-2011, 11:50 AM
If your friend is on stock wheels, they are +46 offset and only 7" wide. Even if you don't take the width into consideration, a 5mm spacer would only emulate a +41 offset, that would mean he'd need a whole nother spacer to get to +35. add in addition the wheels are 2 inches wider and you've got yourself poke.

Yeah, I'm not saying don't go for it, some people like the poked look, and if you aren't lowered, you should be fine unless you hit a huge pothole or something but then i think fender rub would be the least of your concerns.

pogiboiuno
05-16-2011, 12:07 PM
I'm on 18x8.5 +35 and they dont poke out that much. If you put 215s for tires, you wont have to roll fenders. Its just a little bit of stretch though. For my next set of tires, I'm going to get 235s or 245s and then for sure I'm gunna get my fenders rolled. I'm dropped on Progress springs.

Hey Eric, what is your suspension setup to go along with those wheels/tires? Are your fenders rolled at all?

Springs are Eibach sportlines, wheels are 18x8.5+44, tires are 225/40. No fender rolling necessary for this set up. I wanna go 245/40, probably gonna have to roll fenders to fit the wider tire.

I plan on going with the 18x8.5 +44 wheels as well, and either 235 or 245 tires. Havent' decided yet, I guess the determining factor will be fender rolling requirements. But I'll be on Swift springs, so I might be able to get away with 245's and no rolling since it will sit higher.

Scraped up the bottom of the front bumper. It kinda knocked it out of place, but it popped right back with a little push. Scraped up the bottom of the side skirt. It started separating at the rear, I used a c clamp to push it back. Left it overnight and it seems to be staying in place. Got a small dent and scuff on the rear wheel.

BravoZero
07-03-2011, 06:28 AM
Sorry to hear that bro. Any of the cosmetic damage clearly visible from just standing near the car or is all hidden beneath? If so maybe it won't be as bad if you can't see it, or a majority of it anyway.

EricS09RA
07-03-2011, 08:05 AM
the scraping isn't really visible unless you're looking for it. The front is slightly visible when standing up, but again, you have to be looking for it.

The side skirt isn't visible at all unless you crouch. It is starting to seperate slightly at the rear again (probably an 1/8th inch gap between the skirt and the body). I'm gonna try using some super glue and a c clamp to get it to set right.

Based on my measurements, I'm dropped about 2.2" at the rear and about 3.2" in the front. At this height, rears MUST be rolled and the fronts may have to be slightly rolled (depending on how much camber you run).

for you a fender roll is probably all thats necessary, I'm on 9.5's with an even wider tire, a 235, and I'm good the way i am. i pulled my fenders a bit (flared them) but it wasn't necessary, i only needed a roll. the reason i did it was because i thought they'd need more room and pulled them before i got the rims and tires so i could actually drive home from getting them installed. its ok though because i ordered a set of coils and plan on lowering it another 1.5 to 2 inches so the pull will come in handy now.

HA! you beat me to it! My reply would have been a long the lines of..

"Its an Evo X lip. So unless you swap entire front ends, you wont be able to use it :)"

Both cars are running VOLTEX lip and splitters, not OEM mitsu. ;)

And yes, the RA is running an evo front end, so the kit will not work on a standard RA unless you convert over.

Just made a local pickup of Evo X Enkei's from a guy on evoM. My fourth set of wheels now. I think I need help. I couldn't pass up the deal though.. $500! and less than 5k on them.
