Hey guys I just purchased a Evo X FMIC and followed Blaze's directions on how to install it. All I have to say is if you are going to do this mod follow his how to and it will be a piece of cake. It took me probably 40 mins but then I realized the couplers didn't fit. So my question is does anyone know a what size coupler fits the UICP to the intercooler and then the stock Ralliart LICP to the intercooler? Also can I just purchase these at a NAPA, Auto parts store or home depot? Thanks.

P.S. I think I'm a pro a taking the bumper on and off.

I used 2.25-2.25 on the bottom and 2.5-2 on the top. The top is a bit tight, u might wanna try 2.5-2.25

Where did you end up buying them at? I looked at auto zone and they have a few 3 to 2.5.

The size needed is a 2.5-2.25 reducer. I don't recommend any of the low quality autozone, kragen, or pepboys products since they tend to give out and pop under boost. I recommend the following site to purchase your reducer couplers from: http://www.siliconecouplers.com/silicone-couplers-122/silicone-reducers-128/

Just choose the color you want and select a 2.5-2.25 reducer. Hope this helped!

It looks like they only had 3-2.5 on that website. Or will the 3-2.5 work? Thanks.

No that size won't work. Try this site here, I've also used them with no prob: http://www.votionspeed.com/servlet/the-Silicone-Straight-Reducers/s/21/Categories

wwralliart was the 2.5 - 2.25 for the lower evox FMIC outlet to the stock ralliart LICP? I'm assuming the Evox UICP and the upper FMIC inlet are the same size as the lower evox FMIC outlet. Let me know if I'm wrong. I want to order these parts but I want to make sure. Thanks.

Lastly, Is a three inch coupler long enough for both upper and lower?

ltn.....I'm doing this mod this weekend.I went to synapse engineering and they had all the sizes you could ever need in stock.I can sell you the reducer and coupling you need since I picked up 2 of each.Or you can go to group5 motorsports off of camino santa fe and they will pick them up same day.The synapse are really thick and meant for much higher boost than normal couplings.

So what is the consensus?

2.25-2.5 RA licp to EVO fmic

2-2.5 RA uicp to EVO fmic

?

I did the X FMIC to the stock RA pipes. I used 2-2.5" for the upper (the 2" side was really tight, u might want to use 2.25-2.5). On the lower side I used 2.25-2.25.

So couplers with 2.25-2.25. will work with RA stock LICP connecting to Evo X FMIC?

Since I couldn't seem to find this anywhere online, here are the actual measurements taken with a slide caliper on my 2011 Ralliart;

Ralliart UICP and LICP : 54.2mm or 2.13in
Evo X Intercooler Inlet and Outlets: 60mm or 2.36in

So from the look the measurements, a 2.25 to 2.5in coupler is too large for both sides unless it's a bit 'undersized' from the stated size. A 2 to 2.25in coupler seems like it would be a bit tight but should fit without being loose on either connection.

Again, from looking at the measurements there shouldn't be a difference between the upper and lower couplers.

Can anyone confirm actual sizes used?

Not sure on exact numbers but for this reason I always just rec swapping to all X stuff to avoid any confusion or wasted money on reducer couplers

I can confirm that a 2"-2.25" size coupler works for both sides. It is a bit tight, especially on the IC side, but I was able to get them on by hand with a bit of swearing...

Note: This wasn't as simple as slapping on the correct size hose couplers as I've read in a few places. To make it fit correctly with all support bolts like OEM I cut the UICP and the outlet of the EVO IC. Mitsubishi put a second bead in these pipes as a backstop for the OEM couplers. I cut just before this bead and cleaned up my cuts with a file and wirewheel. Now everything fits and works like OEM with the bigger EVO IC.
