I think I was the same way when I got my Ralliart. I had a sunroof in my eclipse and I just got so use to it. Now after 2 months of owning this car I'm over it too. I actually like the full paint look ontop.

My new thing is Mud Flaps :) Black with red font! I hear they are a pain to install though.

Hey man nice pics once again. It's Tony from valley. how's the new wing?

xwxspawnxwx
08-27-2011, 07:00 PM
Love the wing. Defiantly get a lot of head turning with it :) I found a matching carbon fiber material Shark fins rear roof spoiler like on the older evos that I'm thinking about getting. Looks sick from the pictures I seen with EVO x that have it.

Also Ken told me I'm able to do Evo X parts swaps and exhaust without killing the warranty which is a huge plus :) That will be my projects next year probably along with these wheels and some nice summer tires.

great SHOTS!! stupid question, are those stock rims? if they are, did you paint them yourself, and what color are those (I'm a little colorblind).

xwxspawnxwx
09-08-2011, 08:18 AM
Thanks. Ya they are stock rims. They are black with red mitsu logo on them. I did 3 coats of plasti dip black. 3 coats of black wheel paint and 3 coats of clear wheel paint.

Did all 4 myself... Never painted wheels before so it was my first time (its easy just take ur time and hold the can at least 12 inch spreading the paint evenly)

I waited about 15min between coats.

Let me know if you have any question.

Thanks! I think anything is better than my old 05 eclipse in the snow :)

Funny you say that... when we had the "blizzard" back in early 2010, I drove home that weekend with a few inches of compacted snow on the road. I had a 2002 Eclipse GT, lowered with all season performance Yoko's, no traction control or ABS. I took my time and made it all 45 miles without issue. Pissed off every 4WD vehicle behind me but that's ok, lol.

However, there were indeed times where it was just too front-end heavy and the rear would slide like a mofo if you weren't careful in the snow.

I know what you mean. That blizzard was nasty last year. Don't get me wrong my eclipse got me through a lot, its just will be nicer with something that can handle these winter time in ohio a bit better.

I think I was the same way when I got my Ralliart. I had a sunroof in my eclipse and I just got so use to it. Now after 2 months of owning this car I'm over it too.

Ha! I felt the same way when I got mine. I even got the sales person to knock an extra $1000 off the price of the car because I told him I HAD to have a sunroof and it was going to take something big to get me to commit to a car without one.

All these Eclipse posts are making me sentimental. *sniff* I traded in an '01 GT for my ralliart. :D

p.s. Did you plastidip the grill ring too? I was thinking of doing that to mine, but I haven't seen it done on a black car and don't know how it'll look. On white/grey cars it looks killer, but on a black car I'm afraid it'll just make it blend in with everything else.

xwxspawnxwx
09-10-2011, 09:00 PM
I plasti-diped my Ring/Emblems/Window Rim/Fuel Door and Wheels (Wheels I did Black paint and Clear coat over the plasti Dip).

I seen plasti dip over the ring on a PB Ralliart and it looks sick..... best part about it... you dont like it... you peel it off without any damage :)

Hey let me know where and how much u get ur tint...I'm researching tint places but I haven't commit yet...

psyberkilla
09-15-2011, 03:35 PM
I'm getting my tint done here (anaheim):

http://www.xlnttint.com/

It's going to be $650 for Huper Optik CM30% ceramic tint on all windows (including CM60% on the windshield). The Huper Optik film blocks both infrared and UV light. If you want a carbon or metallic tint you can get it for a lot cheaper (wanna say it was around $175ish for carbon w/o the windshield being done). I'm sold on the ceramic though. It is lighter than carbon tints, but I'm more concerned about heat. My black RA gets HOT, so I can use all the help I can get. Give them a call for a quote, my friend just got his new Camaro done in metallic there (with the lightest shade of ceramic on the windshield) and it looks pretty pimp.

Check out that link I gave for xlint tint. They also have a 'mid-atlantic' office in MD. Obviously, I can't vouch for their quality/service, but I've seen nothing but good reviews (and first hand work on 2 cars) for the one out here on the west coast.

I'll probably be doing the same once Mammoth starts getting some snow (which can't come soon enough!). :D What made you decide on the X-Ice's? I was thinking of either picking up those or the Blizzak's. Anybody have any recommendations for one over the other?

xwxspawnxwx

I always had good experience with Michelin tires and right now they got great rebates going on.

I had Michelin on my old Eclipse 05.... I live in Ohio and I was able to get through the crazy blizzards last year on Michelin tires without a problem while cars other cars from sedans/suvs were getting stuck one after another. I had to drive hour and a half to work each day and I felt safe with the tires.

xwxspawnxwx
11-22-2011, 06:29 AM
I got it from this guy: Scorpionmotorsport

http://myworld.ebay.com/scorpionmotorsport/?_trksid=p4340.l2559

These are 3M stick ons. I wanted to get the actual functioning vents but chickened out on any sort of cutting or body work.

Had them on for a while now. No issues yet and they are stuck on there pretty damn good.

BravoZero
11-22-2011, 06:45 AM
What are those vents for anyway on the X? To expel heat from the engine bay?

xwxspawnxwx
11-22-2011, 07:52 AM
"The engine hood air outlet and fender vents effectively exhaust heat from the engine compartment. Together with the engine hood air scoop that supplies cooling air to the turbocharger these elements give vivid accent to Evolution X's exterior looks."

xwxspawnxwx
11-22-2011, 09:29 AM
They have different styles out there. If your going for function there are some with larger air flow.

Here is an example and it's also CF.

^ There's vendors that sell the Evo X style side mount license plate mount as well as the Evo X style fenders vents. The side mount requires drilling some holes to attach it to the front bumper. The fender vents can be the "stick on" type or can be cut and molded into the fenders to make them functional.

*UPDATED*

While I am here why not give a little update. It's been a pretty crappy "Winter" here in Ohio meaning more Rain than anything else.... there is Snow here and there but it doesn't last more than a couple of days before it melts....

Anyways Spring will be here soon... meaning time to have fun with the car.

Here are some of the upcoming 2 things I have ordered:

I like the pics with the golf.
How is the new golf?

xwxspawnxwx

I must say it's the first car since the Ralliart that I drove and actually had fun with. It's light and got a 5 inline with 170hp so its surprisingly pretty quick. I also got him the premium 17 alloy with 225s.

Most importantly my dad loves it. It's the same color as his old Audi that he had to leave in Europe were we use to live. Ever since he moved here he drove everyone else beat up cars and my mom, sister would drive new ones.

Figure it's a nice gesture to get him something like this especially after seeing how much he liked the golf when we were at the auto show.

OVERALL a Very Very fun car. Defiantly a steal for the price. I was able to get it for 18,900. Knocked it down from 23.500.

It was like 15$ from a dude in Australia. He has a program that does the cutting for him when you send him the design. It was pretty easy to do just had to line it up carefully. I used High Temp paint I picked up on amazon.

I forgot to take a picture of it. It was an adhesive template that I had the guy make based on the actual Ralliart Logo (font). All I had to do was measure the intercooler and figure out the size I wanted and then have it scaled to the logo.

Haha it's ok! I'm asking cause I wanna help you go from
Amature<--------------->Pro Status :D

You want to adjust your ISO to as low as possible. I try not to shoot higher than 400 cause it starts to get grainy. And then balance your Aperture with your shutter speed. If it starts to get super dark tripods are always helpful :)

Just got a Canon EOS Rebel T3 with the standard lense.

That's a pretty solid camera. It's always about the photographer and not so much about the camera. I've shot better pics with my old Canon AE-1 than some of my friends with 5D MKII's.

When you're shooting don't do auto ISO. Try to shoot under 400. Just go to your menu and adjust it. And adjust your aperture depending on how much you want in focus and how much bokeh you want.

Everyone has their own unique style in editing and processing their pics. Your pictures are your unique look to your photos, but try not to go too dark so we can see all the details in your hard work :)

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

I took this pic a little while ago. I shot it at 100 ISO and I wanted most of everything in focus so I shot it at f14 (all helped since it was super sunny), and I didn't even edit the pic (I was just too lazy).

The low ISO and high aperture helped make the pic look super glossy and wet. It's all like a balance.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v517/jessownsmyhart/FT7A8724.jpg

The shutter speed also helps with more than just the still of a shot. The faster the shutter speed the darker the background will be. The slower the shutter speed the lighter the background will be (almost like fill light).

My Wife and I finished up Akron 2 years ago. We moved up to Broadview Hts. I'm around Fairlawn a lot though... close enough no heh.

It's hard to find RAs around the area. I have only seen maybe 2 since I got the car over a year ago. I always see EVO Xs though.
