Ok i bought what i thought was a used AMS single tip exhaust but after taking apart the oem exhaust and going to bolt this thing in i noticed something was not right(its on but only hanging by one hanger. Two hangers out of three hangers line up)....

after looking at the ams site this is not a ams exhaust, it also says vibrant all over this thing (which really makes me confused lol)

lol what the hell did i buy, there is nothing i can find about a vibrant exhaust system for our cars. I even called the guy back that had this on his car and he still claims this to be a AMS

If it is not AMS, I would get my money back.
Vibrant is not AMS

Unless Vibrant/AMS re-badge product as AMS. ???

maybe an AMS muffler with the rest of the cat back custom fitted by a shop using left over vibrant parts?

I got a text from the guy i bought it from, he says it was a one off exhaust they made. It was made before they began making the current exhaust listed on their site(which is believable). So i gave AMS a call and they said they did make some one off exhaust back in the day for the sportback so his story might hold truth.

So i am not to upset(just a little pissed i need to have new hangers put on) but for the price i paid i guess i am ok

yeah vibrant makes a lot of exhaust components like mufflers and gaskets. No surprise that their name popped up. Even big name companies source parts from Vibrant and such - no reason to develop their own when they're so easily available for so cheap

people have to realize that exhaust is just pipe with/without mufflers welded in-between. I don't see why people make such a big deal of "picking the right exhaust". I plan to have mine custom fabb'd for 100% fitment and originality. After spending so much time at the shop I use, the only exhausts that stand out are the custom-made ones

anyway, nice pickup! single-exit ftw

AMS (and many companies) use parts from Vibrant. Like if you bought what was supposed to be a RRE exhaust and (gasp) it said Magnaflow on it. Well we use Magnaflow parts on our exhausts.
