Nice! Black is a good choice for stock calipers.

What brand/type of paint did you end up using?

Any specific prep you did?

Have you gotten your brakes good and hot to see if it holds up to the heat?

i used the duplicolr kit. i was surprised when i opened it up and it was a paint brush style kit. overall it's good. i do think a spray would have looked a little better. some areas looked like they had the brush strokes, but you have to look close.

no recheck yet, i do at least 50 miles a day an that has a lot of braking so by tonight i should be able to see what they look like.

i will try to get some pics up tonight or maybe i will wait a week and then we can really see.

my car only has 2000 miles on it right now so the brakes aren't nasty. I used the cleaner that was provided with the kit. worked out well, no fisheyes or weird spotting.

Looks good, I agree with Beast the black looks better with the OEM (small) calipers, helps to hide the fact of how small the brakes are on this car.

after day one i'd liek to say i got them fairly hot quite a few times .... looked and they have no bubbles, loss of gloss or imperfections at this time

I have the same paint in red. It's been over a month and they looked like I just painted them :) Great paint imo

Sorry this is a little off topic but are those stock wheels and are they painted or powdercoated ? I like them a lot.

Has anyone had to re-do a crappy paint job on their calipers? Mine were painted red by the original owner and I like the way it looks, the problem is the paint is BADLY chipped and looks not so great.
I would like to re do them but I'm not sure if I have to get the old paint off first, or if I can paint over it. Or maybe I should just touch up the spots that have chipped off? What do you guys think?

^ I would remove the old paint and start fresh. A lot of times when you paint over existing paint flaws the same flaws will still remain present. I would suggest using professional grade Goof Off that is available at most hardware stores such as Home Depot to remove the old paint.
