UPDATE: I installed a 3-Port and its all gone naow!

I've had this constant clicking for about 2 months thats really only noticeable at idle and low speeds, but its pretty damn loud.
The speed doesn't change with the RPMs, it always stays the same.
I narrowed it down to the area around where the ECU is mounted.
No CEL or drivability issues, just getting on my nerves.

Really odd... you're sure it doesn't change with higher engine speeds? How about a vid of the sound from under the hood?

I'm 27839740293% positive it doesn't change with engine speed. haha

That's the thing, I can't really hear it if I roll down the windows and if I'm in the engine bay I can't hear it unless I put my ear down in the area around the ECU.

Weird. My Subaru would make a wierd ticking noise as well if the car is idling with the windows up. Couldn't hear it with the windows down, outside or even in the engine back.

It's slowly killing me inside.
I already have to listen to the clutches and injectors at idle, now this. :(
I just can't find what the hell is causing it.

Sounds like a normal deal, as my RA makes a similar noise. And all I could hear in the vid was the valves tapping. You did mention it was very loud?!

Maybe something is loose and shaking around in there during idle? It might not be anything mechanical at all as I can't really figure out what would make that noise on that side of the car.

I'm going to do some hardcore searching tomorrow.
I'm going to find that bitch and hack it off if I have to.

Maybe something is loose, after the x-swap. Like a screw wasn't tightened down or something odd like that.

I have a full X swap, intake, catback and test pipe.
I'm still on the stock boost controller though.
I'll be upgrading in the next week or so.
If I can't find it tomorrow we'll see if it goes away when I swap out BCs.

Turns out it is the stock boost controller.
And there is also a heatshield on the stock DP rattling.

I thought boost controllers weren't good for this car...? Maybe I misread something.

manual boost controlers are bad. try zip tying it too your engine harness or move it around a bit. your tuner can turn the duty cycle down a bit but thats not good for it... as long as the noise isnt anything bad i dont worry about it haha

I'm still on the stock BC so its in the stock mounting location.
I ordered a GM 3-Port today and it'll be here Saturday.
I'm 99.9% positive its nothing bad but it just annoys the hell out of me. :(

I'd like to go with a 3-port once I get my dowpipe and HFC installed and the 2.7 TBE basemap installed, then tweak it from there.
