Welcome!

That's a good list of items there. UR is a good company.

UR is great, i stand by them and their products and will steer anyone in their direction. i would choose a different bov than the hks one though. a fully venting bov isn't good for our cars. hks has a recirc kit for it but buying that ontop of the bov itself is just retarded cash. you can buy way better made, and more functional blow off valves that fit our car way better, for cheaper. HKS is a name remember, you pay for it.

Whats a bov that you would recommend

Welcome!

What are your goals with the car?

If a X turbo swap is in your plans..i would skip the sri...

As for a good BOV i have a Evo X Metal BOV...that is plenty for my plans.

the RA short ram intakes are designed for a RA turbo. Once you switch to a X turbo the manifold and a few other things need to be replaced...therefore not allowing a RA specific SRI to be used.. :)

all you really need is the metal evo blow off valve. i have a gofastbits which is insane, but its overkill for my setup. sounds great and works even better though

^ The metal bov has a nice silent pssh that can be heard but is not overly loud.

BravoZero

Not much louder than the stock plastic BPV. The biggest difference in BPV/BOV noise is going to be an aftermarket drop-in air filter, such as K&N or HKS. You'll hear it then.

ALL4RA

so should you go with a upgraded drop in air filter or go with a short ram air intake system

If your keeping the RA turbo, than a drop-in will be fine. If upgrading the turbo, you might want to look into aftermarket intakes.

The main issue with aftermarket air intake systems is that they tend to have enlarged MAF sensor housings which throw the AFR off quite a bit and makes it a little more tricky when trying to dyno tune the vehicle. The stock air box will supply more then enough air for the oem turbo unit, as the factory turbo is quite tiny. Like others have mentioned, a drop in air filter is your best bet if you plan on retaining the oem turbo. Stay clear of "sponge type" air filters, as our cars do not do well with them. Filters from manufacturers such as cosworth, works, afe, and k&n are good choices.

I don't remember. lol. I almost feel like it may have been ebay but I'm not sure.

BravoZero

If you want an HKS filter, check www.mitsubishiparts.net, I think he has them in stock.

Otherwise you can order the K&N filter at a local automotive store, I bought mine brand new for about $10 less on eBay. Just make sure you triple check the proper item number before buying any filter though.

OEM wheel size is 18x7, et46.

Stock tires are 215/45-18.

I looked into Drag wheels awhile ago. They are cheap replica wheels. Personally, I would rather go with something more known. The ones you chose look like OZ Superleggera replicas.

okay what would be the differance in whp and wtq on using a ur ic verses an evo ic

Mkid
01-13-2012, 07:51 AM
Similar thing to the filter, won't make much of a difference on the stock turbo. The UR will probably be slightly better but not enough to warrant the price difference.

Well i pulled the trigger and bought what has an x next to it and the rest is my goal now just have to wait patiently to wait for it all to arrive

is that a ralliart specific fmic? If not, you will need to get the uicp and licp for it to fit.

http://www.evoxtuning.com/2008-2012-mitsubishi-evo-x-blow-off-valve-venturi-drive-blitz-p-87785.html

is this a good bov and will it bolt right on to the ralliart

BravoZero
02-01-2012, 05:02 PM
It says "FITMENT: EVO-X - does not fit Evo MR"

That immediately throws up a flag, first thing I think is "doesn't work well with the SST", and if so, the Ralliart will be a no-go either.

Anywhere that sells Evo parts, just look for an OEM Evo BOV, or check the Evo forums for people selling their factory metal BOVs.

New ones go for about $150 or so.

OEM Evo X Metal BOV "DV" P/N: 1545A001

You can get one at Mitsubishiparts.net

$136.32 with 19.77 UPS Ground.

You can buy one used for much cheaper.

BravoZero

The OEM Evo metal BOV is more than enough for the stock TD04 turbo, or even the CBRD RAD turbo. If you're planning on doing an X turbo swap, then you might want to consider holding off and doing some research on one that works better.

Thanks guys, the guy that is going to tune my car said the evo bov will work when i replace my stock turbo for the fp green turbo there was just so many bov's out there and im not that savy about all of it lol! another question i have is i cant do an 85 tune because there is none around me i think 60+ miles away lol so i will have to stick to the 93 octane so when i replace my fuel pump and injectors what do i need to get.
