I am almost certain that is FAR from the truth. No way you are getting a 9.5" wheel without rolling and pulling. If you are lowered, you won't even be able to get away with an 8.5" wide wheel without rolling. Why are you trying to go so wide? Personally, I think 8.5" is more than enough for our cars. Wheels that wide will make the car SLOWER and handle WORSE.....

well i just want wider then the stock. stock is 7 i do believe. i think i am gonna go with 8.5s with a 1.5 drop. wider wheels look better anyways. im going for looks not racing.

Well, I think what you are probably talking about is OFFSET. If you want rims really "flush" with the fenders and no so set in, you can go wider and select the right offset. This is what 8.5" wheels with a 38mm offset will give you...

You also need to define the tire size. Some people think fashion is a phat wheel with a ridiculously skinny tire. Sure a 9" wheel would fit with a 225 tire stretched onto it somehow. But with a 255 or 265 you need a shitload of rolling and pulling going on.

18x9.5's with a real tire require heroics to fit.

I'm on 18x9 +30 Works XD9's and the car looks beautiful wrapped on a 245 Tire.

So personally I think 18x9 + 30 is the perfect fitment.

As mentioned somewhere else, I recently put some
18 x 8.0 5x114.3 ET 35 AR8 Replicas rims on with 245/40 tires.

They look great, but I do get mild rub on some 2" pavement dips at cruising speed. (stock suspension)

just saying, I'm running an 18x9.5 lowered on sport lines no problem. all i needed was a roll.

all the people that are so sure 9.5's won't work, go look at my thread on them and see how much clearance there is.

But you have wider, heavier rims with less contact patch than I do. That hurts performance and looks no different than 8.5"s with the proper offset. Car looks great, btw. I just think it looks no different with the 8.5" wheels, and actually performs better lol

He brings up a good point.. Unsprung Weight.

If you're not going to use all of the rim with your tires, than you're just adding extra weight the car has to try and rotate.

I'm happy with my 18x8's with 235's, weighs less than the OEM tire/wheel setup did and I have more contact patch, not to mention I can now drive the car in bad weather, lol. No, they're not flush with the fender, and I couldn't care less. If I want to be flush I'll get spacers in the future.

yea putting 235's on 9.5's and saying they "work" is meh.

You can fit 235's on 1" skinnier wheels with correct offset and actually get more contact patch for less hassle and the car won't look bro-a-fied.

bro-a-fied.

I'll have to use that sometime! :D
