Nice. Custom cooler or off the shelf? and how much more oil do you think you will need to add?

If he's running an additional cooler, you'd need more.

How would you know how much more? Just fill until overflowing?

oh bravo! come on obviously you will need more! But what's the amount for the ralliart stock!? and lets say if you add on an AMS cooler or a RRE cooler how much more in addition?

How am I supposed to know how much more? Lol :p

I mean it's obvious with the addition of an extra cooler and additional fluid lines, you'd need to add more to compensate. As for how much... he'll have to figure that out once he does the work. I guess see what the exact capacity of his SST is, then the capacity of the cooler, and guesstimate from there.

Such a nightmare:)

So far for me, I am waiting on Nathan at MAP for the Dodson filter (good news he just emailed me saying they just got shipped to him so they will be there by the end of this week) and waiting on Mike from RRE to get back to me on the dual cooler for the tranny.

Then after all that I gotta figure out how much fluid ill need and put in an order:/ Hence why I am asking for how many litres of FFL-2 Ill need for the setup.

Argh!

Ask Mike how much the cooler will hold, and then add about 8 liters to that just to be safe. It may take less, but when it comes time to order more for the next change, youll just subtract what you already have from that order...

As for how much to put in, measure what you get out when you drain it and then add the additional capacity the extra cooler gives you and put that back in.

9 Liters If you get the same duel cooler kit I got from MikeW@RRE.
7 Liters for SST Fluid change.

Here is the break down.

Drain all the SST Fluid from SST, lines, filter, stock cooler, & measure the amount.
Measure the same amount with the new fluid. (Should be 7 Liters +/- .5 Liter)

Get a clean bucket/catch pan
Fill the new upgraded coolers & lines.
You can measure it (I didnt, I just dumped it into a pan with the 7L)

Total amount of fluid would be around 9 Liters +/- .5 Liter

Been trying to get a hold of Mike we weeks now. I know he comes on these forums. He might just be super busy and has no time to respond.

This is perfect. Thanks MTZL!
Once I can get a quote from Mike I can get the cooler sent out.

@MTZL Also, do you recommend the mineral oil flush? or is that all bogus?

I'm not MTZL, but personal opinion is would you prefer some left over stock fluid in there mixing with the new, or mineral oil?

I'd just replace all the fluid you can, no flush.

The thing about mineral oil is there are so many different type.
"Mineral Oil" word is too general.

Generally speaking, SST fluid is "mineral oil"

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mineral_oil

"Mechanical, electrical, and industrial"

I didnt flush, (I usually do when I go #1 or #2)

Has anyone done a full flush on this transmission? I'd be interested to see if it even helps, just a simple fluid change and new filter would be beneficial by itself.
