I was just reading up on this mod and I'm not sure it works.

Well, I haven't tried it yet - no money for second set of wheels! In theory it should work - real world, well that's up for experimentation...

SO BUMMED!!!

Tried it last weekend and it did not work for me. Airtight seal. sensors placed in canister and drove for 5-10 miles on city streets and it took about 30 mins. Never registered.

The only thought I have is that for the ones who it worked for, they immediately placed their sensors in the canister and pressurized it while at the tire shop (or if they had their own tools). This would fit the bill for those that go to the track and swap wheels while there - and never have their tire pressure light come on.

I think that if I ever do get lucky enough to have 2 sets of wheels - one for the street and one for the track to fit my big brake kit upgrade dreams, I will go with Orange Electronic sensors. They duplicate the ID of your OEM sensors and can be installed in your other set of wheel. I like this better actually as I think TPMS is great - it just sucks you can't ghetto it like I wanted. Oh well.
