Now that you own one, what do you think? First impressions?
I think this car is awesome. I'm coming from a 400whp/400lbft evo 8 too.
I wish it had better gas mileage. I had the same gas mileage with 400hp+.

This car handles like it's on rails... It's solid and pretty much sucks itself to the road. My wife and I drove down to Florida and noticed 31mpg(steady) at times when I locked it into 6th gear and that was at about 80MPH.. No kidding, my wife couldn't believe it either..
I replaced the stock Yokohama ADVANs with Goodyear Eagle GTs within the first week of owning the car. During the winter we drive upstate New York to go snowmobiling, and with the Eagle GTs, the car pulled through over a foot of snow, easily....
This car is a little jet... I love it!!

I love mine. Seeing as I first owned an '02 OZ Rally then this Ralliart, it's great. I wish my work slows down, cause I haven't been able to 'really' drive the car anywhere. But when you need to go in this car- it does GO.

I love my Ralliart. Though I have only had it for about a month now. I previously owned an 05 mazda 3 which I loved but the HP & Torque was a little under developed even with a CAI and Exhaust I was only pushing 180-190 at the crank. I could not be happier with my choice in the Ralliart it was between this and the WRX I know I made the right choice.
my first turbo car and i just love the way that the engine sounds and love the way it looks. i have a rotor glow at first orange looks ugly but when i see it reflecting from the its just awsome speciallyat night its some kinda candy redish. all in all i just love it

i love it everytime i drive it around specially its a head turner every time i pass by schools. i cant wait to get an after market parts and im still waiting or the prices to go down on parts. Damn its expensive just because its a ralliart

i love mine. i've driven lots of turbo cars, but this is the first one i've owned, and this is by far my favorite turbo i've ever driven. it may not be the fastest, but it's the most fun imo. The SST makes it a great daily driver for city life, and a blast in the twisties. maybe a MR would be more fun, but for 20k less, i'll take my ralliart any day!!!

I would say this is the best power/handling for my money. incredible step up from the pos scion xb I had but not quite as raw as the EVO 8 I had before the xb. The EVO 8 WAS on rails, this car needed some help in the suspension department to feel like its on rails. While I could have lived with it in stock mode, a little help from the handling & power departments will be much appreciated. I HIGHLY recommend Mullerized... for bringing your RA up to speed in the handling department.

I'm really liking the RALLIART.
2 major road trips in, the last one 16 hour round trip to the prairies and back--lots of different terrain, road conditions, elevation, etc..
Only complaint, is that the Recaros are starting to annoy me.
Great for short trips, not long.
This is my fifth car:
1. 86 Tempo [hah!!];
2. 95 Neon Coupe [hah, again--crashed, I blame the other driver in the Honda];
3. 99 ZX2;
4. 05 Outlander;
5. 09 Ralliart Sportback.
I did not expect it, but the Ralliart does get a great deal of attention.
Like the 70 year old dude who followed me to the hardware store, to ask me about the suspension tuning.
Or the douchebag in the 3 series blocking the lane on the freeway to check out the Ralliart profile.
Or when I visited my mother at work, and all the summer students came out, and were crawling around my car.
Or the two snotty hot chicks, checking out the front clip, one mouthing the words "Wash your car".
Or the two burnout teenagers working at Subway, who left their store unattended to check out the Ralliart.
Or yesterday, a skanky honey in a way too short miniskirt couldn't take her eyes off the car--It was like she was under a spell, or I had airbrushed two lesbians making out on the aluminum hood.
I am used to my old vehicles, or the work Jeeps, that get no attention whatsoever.
There is not very many Ralliarts or Evos around, so I don't expect this to end.
Maybe I should just get that airbrushing done!!

I wish the paddle shifters were mounted on the wheel instead of the column.
It should have come with at least 225/40/18's
The chrome trim pieces have GOT to go.
BUT...
For the price difference between the Ralliart and the Evo, 2000/2500 in mods you got the same power as an Evo for thousands less.
I just couldn't justify the extra 10K in price for basically the same car.

got it the first time it came out, Jan. 16, 2009. Didn't sound as solid as my honda accord coupe, but way way nastier (in a good way).... and nothing could beat awd. Nice to know that your car has some pedigree lineage..:)

You're absolutely right! Never owned a vehicle that got so much praises. like people stopping me at best buy parking lot, mailmen getting off their cart(?) saying how they like the car. One guy actually eyeballed my car in a walmart parking lot while I was trying to find a parking spot and waited till I came close to him to praise the car.. On the flipside, there are those who get ticked off easy if you beat them coming off a stop light and would try to race you til you reach your destination. (from sonny boy to grandpa):::D

I get a lot of comments on my car too. Quite a few people have actually asked me how I like my Evo... lol.
I've had mine for about 2 months now, and I enjoy it even more now than when I bought it.

Just found out the wife is preggers, traded in 2005 Scion tc with 60k miles for "used" 09 Ralliart with 13k miles on it. Makes perfect sense right? Features of a more expensive car, excellent transmission, lazy automatic mode, similar gas mileage to the Scion, 4 doors, room for a baby seat, and I read that babies love turbos... I am calling it my pre-mid life crisis car. :D
first turbo, coming from a 2003 Rav4 this car is awesome<3

so i pretty much love everything about my RA except for 2 things first im surprised nobody else doesnt like that you can only get the tc-sst really surprised there no manual available. it is weird coming from my 07 civic si which was 6spd with an 8900 rpm redline (had hondata reflash done thats why it was even higher) but do like the car better. Second and most of all is the price and availability of the aftermarket parts but the quality of them seems to be alot better. installed C P-e turbo back and it sounds amazing. im hoping we get a few more parts out soon cant find intake headers, throtlle bodies, or exhaust manifolds anywhere yet unless there coming off an evo X or earlier model but im sure that will change.. overall i Love the car

This is my "family car" too. Was driving an Eclipse GSX before, but could only squeeze one kid inside. It's my daily driver (50 miles r/t) and it's been to Mammoth Lakes (6 hour drive) so far. Only real complaint is mileage; I should be getting 20 on my commute but it's usually 18-19. Got 23 on the trip, which included fairly heavy A/C through the desert.

I love it, it is also my first turbo car. i love the handling (minus the squeezing oem tires) and it's much faster than mitsubishi says.
what i don't like is the gas mileage, for a 2L is way too much. And the oil change every 5k miles is far beyond normal limits
I have a beater for daily use (95 Chrysler Neon LOL with super mileage)
before i used to own a 08 charger, i imported the car myself from the USA all the way to switzerland.

Overall love the car -Love the colour, love the overall look, the motor(still gonna upgrade it ) the tranny, the recaros, Nav system, the paddle shifters mounted to the column so they are always in the same place, fantastic in the snow - unimpressed with the sound system, the turbo lag, not real big on the wild wing.......

Hello. I was looking into getting racing seats for bump and runs. i had a bump and run car. i used the stockseat and seat belt, and the seat belt kept poping off. ebay has 2 ralli art seats with 4-point racing harness for 250. any of you people that actually now what they are doing know if that would be worth getting, or would i be ripping my self off? throw the answer on my page.

I have owned a 2001 Honda S2000, 91 Mitsu VR-4 TT, and most recently sold my Nissan 350Z convertible for the 2009 RA. I have to say I love the RA. It is really well rounded. The turbo is amazing, the ride is convertible yet handles well. The AWD is such a great feature. The SST has to be one of the best transmissions. The S2000 had the best manual transmission I have driven but the option of cruising in auto or using the paddle shifters is a hard feature to beat.
I just did the GST V2 Base map and GST boost pill tonight. Wow this car really is fun now. I have to say I don't really miss the 350Z. Top down was fun and it might have looked a little flashier but I love the mean front end look of the Ralliart. I don't regret it for a minute.
I have had the car for exactly 1 month tomorrow. Not looking forward to paying those tags and taxes lol.

0-80mph yes, but 80-140mph the charger was faster

This car is awesome! I swear...I smoked a G37 on the BELT PARKWAY in NY. No excuses for him either as it was 2AM and the highway was wide open. Really tho' the RA hauls on stock internals, and has so much potential for tuners. I'm looking into that STAGE 3 upgrade from AMS myself.

came from a Volvo C30 T-5 6-speed, it was fun, quick(no turbo lag!) but not as sporty or as fun as the RA, plus I need the AWD in our snowy(160cm+) winters.

Well I had a 2008 Eclipse GS and thought that was an ok car. My wife is the one who really wanted it. So the RA was a step towards kids actually being able to fit in the back seat.

Yes the RA has came to be a way better car then they were in the past.
It is a nice little around the towner and highway cruzer.
Came from
95 ford ranger
97 ford tempo
2000 nissan sentra ser v spec
91 miata
97 eclipse rs
2006 Scion TC
2008 mazda RX8
2005 EVO 8 GSR
2010 RASB
2004 EVO 8 GSR
I would have to say it is in the top 3 cars I have ever owned but I will say after seeing every thing every one has wrote about getting a RA because it is cheaper then a EVO but still like a EVO is not realy correct.
Facts of price to bring a RA to a EVO spec will cost the same if not a little more then a EVO.
1st The turbo needs to be upgraded yes you can get the same power as a evo out of the stock but that is working the little turbo over time and bigger turbo is more air-boost. Cost $900 to $3500 depends on which turbo you get.
2nd with speed you need good brakes a big brake kit will cost around $2000 to $3500 not with labor.
3rd suspension upgrade cost any where from $1000 to $4000.
4th Have to pay some one labor to install it for which can be a lot if you can't do the work your self I won't lie a few of these thing you will need a expert to help and with the new turbo you will need a custome tune that run $400 to $900 depends where you go.
Then there is the fact EVO use Super AWC - S Sport SST.
Add it all up and the EVO is a better buy.
But for what it is the RA is a great car.
A good mid level sport sedan.
I used to own
1985 Honda Prelude Si
used & was quite beat-up, had to tap the starter to get it to start. Suspension was raced out for the track & every bump on the road was like the whole car was gonna fall apart! Not to mention the car literally beat you up when you drive it from start up which shocks me sometimes to back breaking suspension...
Traded the prelude for (got ripped off for the civic HX)
2000 Honda Civic HX
1st Brand New without A/C which I would regret during all the summer for 10yrs.
Used to drive hard & drive everywhere.
Some one broke in took my dvd player, shattered the driver window (which was more than the dvd player.) less than deductible. Had to pay out the pocket.
150,000 miles later oil leak & drain bolt was stripped from using air tool (Oil Changers Failed) & blew the motor. Will never let anyone touch my car for oil change.
Replace the D16 motor with K20 motor! Did 110mph in 3rd gear, street raced every car on the road (smoked a 198x porsche 911 3 times). Almost killed myself afew time pass 130mph! Learn more about FWD cars on downhill.
Learn my lesson found new respect for speed & different road conditions.
Many electrical problems from K20 swap the car only start when it wants to. Some kinda of a short.
Some one else broke in my car & stole the Pioneer Double Din Touch screen deck & 12" Type R sub & Used jordan shoes.
Civic would start sometimes & I would be late for work.
Couldnt afford the civic to be in the shop + MANY rental cars for weeks at a time.
After all the drama, I scramble & shop around & wanted the almighty EVO X.
Did financial layout & found out I couldnt afford the almighty EVO X.
I didnt want FWD anymore & was looking for RWD or AWD.
Since RA was AWD+Turbo, & it had the same 4b11 as EVO X.
I took it for a test drive & I thought it was a decent car.
I couldnt test drive the EVO X every dealer told me no test drive.
I almost bought a subie WRX it was cheaper & has more power but handling was not as precise as RA.
I know the RA has alot of potential & tho' its not my 1st pick the RA responded well to the driver input.
So 2009 RA picked me, sorta in a weird way.
Because I needed to drive it everyday & RA gets better gas mileage & cheaper on insurance. Since the engine is the same I knew Turbo can be swap for EVO X. After about a month of owning it I came across a guy that was selling his EVO X Turbo & I jumped on it (Bought it).
I dont have the feeling of regret for not buying into an EVO. EVO is a better car. But the driver behind the wheel is more important than the car itself.
I took it to the Mountain & a few tracks & I fell in love with it.
I cant wait to put more reliable power & learn to control it like extension of my body.
AWD+Turbo= LOVE
I enjoy the
Cruise Control (My 1st CC)
A/C (My 1st Air Conditioning)
Power Steering (I like the feel of the steering kinda like without power steering but its powered)
Pedal Shifters (My 1st Pedal shifter)
