Anyone experience this?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gS-QhttXCKw

It only happens in 6th gear when i have the rpms between 1700-2100. It just pulsates. But any other gear is fine and if it goes past 2200 all is fine.

I have it in cruise and it does this.

Any ideas?

That's not your car. Second, why are you in 6th at 1200 rpm?

I use mine as a real manual, to slow my car before a light I know will be changing soon and etc.. I like to use my right foot and still can get 25+ mpg.

My first guess is you have the ecu/tcu feeling it is need of a downshift, and can't make up its mind.

Tried that senario today and no my car doen't do that... Most likely has something to do with a SST Table

I can't view the video at work, but if your rpms are going back and forth while cruising, that is not good

I'm pretty sure it's a bad seal on the SST, but Eric@SSP-TX reminded me that if it ever happened, prepare for a trade-in or prepare for the worst

Dont know whats up with that. I just went out and tried and it and mine doesnt do that. I would also like to know why you are in 6th at 1200 RPMS

My tranny also likes to skip and shutter trying to get going from a dead stop

Mine does it to. Changed my trans fluid and I haven't had it happen yet (knock on wood) whens the last time you flushed out your sst?

changed my trans fluid 5000km ago. Its weird because every other gear is fine, just in 6th it does this and only between 1800-2200rpm.

Mine does that exact thing all odd gears 1 3 5 doesnt matter what rpm it only goes away if i give it a fair amount of gas and it will jump up when i give gas then settle where it should be and starts pulsing again once i let of the gas and just keep it steady

In each mode? Normal, sport, s-sport? 6th is overdrive wonder if you could log it haha. Maybe airfuel ratios and clutch slip. Could be a lot of things. Does it happen all the time?

have you gone to the dealership? might be a bad seal. If they can repeat it you'll be in good shape! I've been modded since 1000 miles. still going strong at 47,000 ;). Just have a good tuner and you'll be fine.

Wouldnt a bad seal affect all gears not just the odd ones though?

Not sure since I haven't taken mine apart yet but I thought the even and odd clutches had different seals for engagement

Its in all modes, sport normal and ssport. I can repeat it. Maybe ill take it to the dealer. Read on some other fourms it could be ignition timing or a air intake ahs a air leak

That would make sence if they used different seals but does mitsubishi replace those seals i thoughtthey would not change any parts

They don't touch it, just replace it. This is considered a "non-serviceable" item to the techs.

Just got my RA and I have been noticing the same thing but I get it in 5th too in the lower rpm band. I'm thinking about taking it in to the dealership.

So I finally took it up to the dealership to check it out. The technician said that its "normal" in the lower rpms. I asked him to explain why exactly and he couldn't give me a straight answer. Said if it gets really bad flush the transmission fluid. Not happy with his diagnosis so I'm taking it to another dealership when I can.

Weird how thats normal... and only in 6th. I think we need a better explanation then "it just happens"

Im new here and was having the samw problem with my sst. Turns out my trans was bad, its at the dealership now being replaced. When i know what exactly went wrong I'll post it. It took 3 visits to the dealer n a call to Mitsubishi motor company to meet n have a ride along with a regional manager to get to thus point.
