I did a quick search on the net and found that you need to get this checked out with the MUT 3 machine they have at the dealership or a good mitsu indie shop. it might just be a INTERMITTENT MALFUNCTIONS. Are you still under warranty?

Is this a 2009 or 2010 SST that is stuttering?

I had this issue without the CEL. Bought the car, drove 400 miles and it started surging on take off (like lugging the sh*t out of a manual). Took it to mitsu, they hooked up a computer for like 5 minutes and said tranny was out

...the clutch slipped for me in either the normal automatic version, in SST NORMAL and in SST SPORT mode...
..informed dealers service center..
..they contacted the MITSUBISHI tech center in Toronto..
..they advised that at first the fluids should be changed and if that eliminated the slip I would have to pay for it...
..they changed the fluids and alas...nothing changed..same old slip...
..next thing was that they checked the car by way of computer for any mods or hidden mods...if there were any the whole warranty deal was off...
..the car was repaired with the new double clutch under warranty...
...final analysis...every time the car comes back from dealer service or work another thing goes bad...
...this will have been my last Mitsubishi...
had 8 in the past with absolutely zero problems...from 2 Sho-guns to 2 v8 pick up trucks - 2 Outlanders and 2 EVO's..
..next car will be a 2014 Alfa Romeo
...writing from Europe.

All of the stuttering issues cleared up for me after I changed the trans filter and changed the fluid.
Yes I am using the Pentosin FFL-2 and I know of the controversy surrounding it, but I am having excellent luck with the FFL-2 fluid and the combination of the SSP stainless steel washable filter.

I had flushed the fluid changed filter never helped tranny was done wouldn't replace under warranty traded it in about two years ago miss it but my 12000$ transmission couldn't handle 70 000km so it had to go :/ wish you could get a manual in these

You can, theres a guy with RA who swapped his tranny with GSR.
