Hey everyone. I need to get myself some new lug nuts because my current el-cheapo ones are rusting to hell.

I want to get some locking ones to protect my shiny Wedssports from potential thieves and they seem to be way harder to find at a decent price than I thought they would be.

The ones I'm thinking about getting are the password JDM ones here:

Does anyone have any better recommendations? Really, I just want something that will last without rusting although if they come in pretty colors that is a plus :D

For OEM rims, I'd rec the OEM locks, so if you hit the dealer and forget em they can still pull your wheels.. Not sure what type of lugs you need, but in general from my experiences rolling fenders, the only guy who can't get to your wheels offf, will be you.. I can pull most any aftermarket locks off with pliers or sockets..

And if you ever need OEM magshank wheel locks? I've got a set..

I bought my lugs and wheels from here. They have tons of different flavors.

I have aftermarket wheels. I know they don't offer much security, but I'd rather have them then not have them.

What brand did you get and how have they held up and for how long?

I understand what you're saying, but depending on the lock/configuration, you only need a thin wall 16/17mm socket to pull the locks.. So try to skip those. If they have those multiple spline type keys, they're useless.. I'll try to post a pic..

The reason why the OEM ones are "slightly"better, is they're rounded on the exterior, so they're harder to grip with pliers or sockets..

sorry for such a shit pic, but basically alot of the "keys" i see are easily replaced by a thinwall 16 or 17mm socket.. and the dealer ones are rounded..

if i was you, id find a set for a mazda, so theyre not mag shanks, but theyre the same pitch etc.. i had the same kind on a mazda.. humm.. i might even have some?

yep, found em..if you wanna run chrome OEM style lugs? i have a set of mazda OEM wheel locks, that should work just fine..

Mazda wheels come factory with the "tuner" seat? O_o. Or are you saying they are the same as oem mitsubishi? Keep in mind that I have aftermarket "tuner" wheels.

Mazda uses accorn style lugs, theyre reg chrome OEM style.. Mitsu uses mag shanks(acorns with rings)

Tuner lugs are usually just narrower.. So fitment is touchy... But, mazda and mitsu wheels and lugs pitch and interchangeable.. I run mitsu rims on my mazdas..

OEM BBS,enkei and even OEM mitsu rims require mag shanks..

As for weight, Mazda lugs are 25 grams each.. Much lighter than mag shanks. But, they run them with 27 lb rims, so it's wasted effort..

I'm thinking about just getting these:

http://www.nlmotoring.com/Muteki-SR48-Lug-Nuts-Open-End-Titanium-p/mut-32906t.htm

I read somewhere that the PasswordJDM ones are actually made for them by Muteki anyways. Not sure if thats true or not, but they look similar to the spline ones that Muteki makes.

They come with a tool, but I think all it is is a normal extended socket. Oh well, it seems like nothing will protect them from someone who really wants them but it might at least be enough to deter an amature theif if they can't get a normal socket around them.
