Wow... this thread hasn't been updated in almost a year.

V2.7 of the GST Basemaps are now out, a LOT of work and time has gone into this just by looking at the thread on EvoM, here's the link to the new maps:

http://forums.evolutionm.net/09-ralliart-engine-turbo-drivetrain/443880-2009-lancer-ralliart-gst-basemap.html

I'll be flashing this today and see how it goes, nothing but positive feedback on V2.7 so far!

Think I am finally going to go with the Pill but there's an issue. GST's website has a secure cert that expired in 2010. Sorry, but not plugging my Credit info into a non-secure site. I've tried sending PM's to Bryan in the past to get one, since noone answers at GST when I call, or returns my calls when I leave my info on their voice mail.. grrr.

I wonder if this is an upgrade to the tune I got already by the man himself.
These kinda things get poor RA owner like me excited.
Every lil bit counts. :D

Too bad I still dont have tactrix cable.
I will buy you food & beer Bryan next time I see you.

Special thanks to Rich for helping with the testing & update.

I flashed V2.7 with the stock boost pill, and all I can say is WOW. Just the transmission behavior enhancements alone are worth it. I drove the car in Normal Auto, Normal Manual, Sport Auto and Sport Manual, never had one hiccup. I couldn't vouch for the difference in power because I'm using the stock boost pill, but this is how the car should have come from the factory.

Excellent work Bryan and I'll thank Rich over at EvoM as well.

I have one, I took it back out because I was prepping the car to trade it back in, but ever since I decided to keep it I haven't bothered re-installing it. Plus, I need to get a boost and wideband gauge before doing anymore performance upgrades. Once I have them, then I'll go back to upgrading the car.

Nope, because I did stand-alone logging a lot of times but I need to be able to monitor my systems at all times. After that one incident where I overboosted after reinstalling the stock pill wrong, that scared me enough to where I do go anywhere near redline anymore. Once I get a set of gauges I'll have more confidence in running the car harder.

I can't open any of the 2011 Ralliart Basemap ROM files, whenever I try to open the rom it says (Parse error at line 228, column 137; no error occurred)

The 2009 and 2010 Ralliart ROM files open up just fine but since I have a 2011 I can't use those.

If you check the GST basemap Thread over on EvoM... you can find the 2012 Basemaps...

If you have trouble... let me know and I can find it for you... I'm sure that's what Bravo was referring to..

But to others.... not you can't flash a 2011 Map on a 2012 Car... each car has it's own ROM ID.... Even in the same years.

Hi folks.

I've posted a small Base Map update over on EvoM (http://forums.evolutionm.net/09-ralliart-engine-turbo-drivetrain/443880-2009-lancer-ralliart-gst-basemap-190.html#post10603710).

Version 31 is born. No 2013 maps yet, but a few nice things added to the existing maps.

Enjoy!

Anyone in northern Alabama/Huntsville area with a cable and some experience with this that can help me? If you don't have a cable I can buy one but I could use a hand with the downloads and flashing the ECM. I'm trying to avoid having to either buy the Cobb AP or driving all the way to ATL for a dyno tune. More mine for mods that way ya know. Thanks.

Rralliart09

Got my own cable and pretty much have this figured out. Now I just need to get my car back (hopefully) soon. But here's another question I'm hoping to get answered.

I was looking at the maps in ecuflash and saw all the clickable boxes. Are these just so you can see the changes that are being made in a table format or is there another purpose for them? Also I've read to enable data logging you need to select mode 23. There are three mode 23 boxes. I know this is complex stuff but I was hoping soneone could shed some light on it for me. Thanks

Yes, you can view paramaters in ecuflash, as well as changing them. You might want to have a look at the following:

Why do you want the AEM intake? Any aftermarket intake on our car without an upgraded turbo is pointless, and most of the time will result in less HP after the tune. You are sucking in super heated air from our inredible hot engine bay...

Stock snorkle intake has more than sufficent flow for the stock turbo.

Have you seen the AEM intake for our cars? It's an inclosed airbox and uses the snorkel. I'm wanting to use it because GST has it listed on their list of mods for the base map. That and I like modifying my car.

While I agree with Romiton that the intake will net you pretty much nothing in the realm of performance, I can kind of understand people wanting to do it just for looks and sound. Having said that, I think it is absolutely ludicrous for someone to buy an AEM intake before they AT LEAST have a cat-back and larger intercooler installed. Those are things the car desperately needs, and will actually net real HP.

I understand you like modifying your car... as do I. I was just throwing in my two cents, and Drew seems to have further explained the reasoning on this.

By all means if an AEM intake makes you happy then go for it.

I also like modifying my car. I have an astounding amount of knowledge on the Ralliart, the engine, what mods do what, and how they interact with each other. I am the original owner of my '09 Ralliart and have been learning/researching/experimenting since the day I got it.

Was only trying to share my knowledge... I also like modifying my car, but I go for peak performance.

I'm trying to do what I can as money allows. I'm going to do a TBE with HFC but there's a time issue with that as the shop I'm having make it is only open Tuesday through Friday and I drive truck so that sucks for me. I didn't get the intake yet. I ordered the Injen UICP instead. And I'm waiting on markspd6 to get together an Evo X IC and LICP for me.

AlDim
01-27-2014, 12:17 PM
Yeah, the intake is probably the last thing on the car that needs to be changed.
Biggest gains come from a high flow cat (stock cat is the most restrictive part in the whole system), better as a part of a full turbo back exhaust. Intercooler also makes a noticeable difference, especially when paired with a better upper pipe (for better throttle response) and lower pipe (because the stock one sucks). Beyond these parts, you need to go to an upgraded turbo setup to increase the power further.

I ordered the Injen UICP instead.

The Injen UICP is designed for the stock IC and will not fit on a car with an Evo X or better IC, so you'll either have to do cutting or upgrade the part again later.

Rralliart09
01-27-2014, 02:16 PM
I'll resell it. Markdpd6 sells a complete kit when he sells them so I'll have what I need when he can source me a good IC.

Rralliart09
02-17-2014, 12:41 PM
Ok I have another dumb question. To flash the TBE map I'm having a custom exhaust made up. I'm going to do an HFC. Now the stock cats are where exactly? I know there's a cat up by the turbo would that be in the down pipe? And is the second cat up under the rear seats? Do I need to replace both cats with HFCs or eliminate the one in the DP and just an HFC out back? I know it'd just be easier to order x y or z HFC and DP but the guy I have does really nice work for way less than ordering premade exhaust parts. And I like supporting local businesses. Thanks

Drew
02-17-2014, 01:11 PM
If you have a cat under your rear seats, let him out before someone gets their taint assaulted. :D

Seriously, we have ONE cat only. And it is not "in" the downpipe. It is after the downpipe and before the cat-back. The stock cat-back has a resonator approximately where you are talking about. Maybe you thought that was a cat. But to reiterate, we have only one, bolted between the downpipe and cat-back.

I found out that my car is running the 55590011 ROM by using Open ECU. From doing some research, I've found that this ROM enables the flash counter on the ECU, and there are no definitions for it on the goldenevo site.

Has anyone had any luck flashing a GST basemap to this rom? I'd rather err on the safe side than brick my ECU.

EDIT - used the closest base map, flashed fine.

Hey everyone, I'm new to the club so I didn't really know who to message about this haha. I have a 2012 Ralliart, and I have a buddy with a 2015 evo Mr
Hey told me he would sell me his stock evo turbo, injectors, and intercooler and help me get it tuned all for a killer price. Does anyone know with that can be done? Or is the year span to big? Thanks
