No, there is no magnet. I have one in my SST now.

So how's the filter working for you guys? I just broke 25k miles so I want to do the change and thinking of getting this one since I can just clean it? What about the filter housing? Since oem comes with a new one

right from dodson, the mesh is finer but has less surface area and comes with a magnet

So far, so good... The gearbox still shifts beautifully. No slippage, no stuttering of any sort.

I guess I'll know how well if filters the next time I pull it and clean it.
I plan to clean the filter every 10,000 miles anyway to be on the safe side.

I used the oem housing. The filter fits right in exactly the same way the original came out. You just have to be careful not to snap the plastic locking tab on it. But it's more durable than you would think. The plastic tab has alot of flex to it.

I'm looking for an update on this reusable filter myself...

And what's the best OEM style filter going right now? I know SSP and Kosmic are selling replacements for $35-$40.. Looking to replace this filter and do an oil flush...
