Winter tire help

hey need to switch to winter snow tire setup asap -- I'm shopping for tires to put on stock 18" wheels

Really wanted to get the bridgestone blizzak ws-60's but the closest the come in for 18" wheels is 225/40/18 ....

Would those fit the stock wheel/ Is there anything better for winter tire?



Only other tires i've looked at that i've considered are the
Michelin X-Ice Xi2 that i can get in a 215/45/18

Any help/suggestions are much appreciated thanks in advance

Well, I went and put 4 Goodyear Eagle GTs on my car, exactly 1 month after I bought it.. I've had the car since this past January, so we're going on a year now.
My Eagle GTs just eat the snow up.. My wife and I go upstate New York snowmobiling and they bite through the worst snow falls. I put the Yokohamas aside for when we move down to Florida.. But I gotta tell ya,,,, The Eagles are wearing great! I rotate them everytime I change the oil.. Now, you don't HAVE to rotate them THAT often, but that's just me.
I was gonna go the Blizzak route myself in the beginning, but they are so expensive for one season usage..
I know you said you're looking for winter tires, but not everyday of winter has wintery conditions that require snow tires and that added definite purpose price..

My suggestion would be to give the Eagle GTs a try.

Michelin X Ice are the only way to go for Winter tires. They are a bit pricey but they are the best Winter tire out their.

As for the tire size you mentioned, its hard to say for certain without cycling the suspension system with the tires mounted. What would fit the RA from one brand/model of tire might not be the same for another. I can fit that size in a Toyo or yoko, I don't know about others though.

its snowing like crazy here in Rockford!!! will end up getting a total of 16 inches... Replaced stocks after 8 months with Goodyear GT's, 215/45/18. Works wonderful!!! Just the inital slipping on green, then the ACD/ESC takes over. Brakes/stops wonderfully under snowy/icy conditions.....

The stock "all seasons" Dunlops that come on the RA up here in Canada are just brutal in the snow. I almost rear-ended someone our first snowfall.
