Since I have my Photobucket account open, I might as well share my all-time favorite mod. Once you put this on one car, you'll never want to go without again... especially if you do you own oil changes.

The plug:

All you'll ever need for an oil change:

Thanks for posting! I had forgotten you mentioned this. Now to go find one.

Is there a specific part # for our car?
Where did you order/pick up yours from?

Here you go:

We don't need the adapter (only V6s I believe). I do recommend the nipple and the hose; they are what makes the oil change easy.

I didn't see a hose listed with the part - just got the F106N part. I suppose I can use any type of hose to drain it, right?

Yeah. I just realized that I got the hose as a package when I got the fumoto for my WRX. I just kept the hose, but I guess they aren't selling it anymore. I think it is a 3/8 inch hose, but you can just check at a hardware store once you get it. The hose I use is about two feet long.

Perfect! Thanks for confirming. :D

I got the part! Now I'm just waiting for my next oil change to install it! I can hardly wait...

heh... well, the thing is, you won't really notice an advantage until the next, next oil change. :p

Excuse my ignorance but Im guessing this mod is for Drain Plug Bolt so there'll be no need to un-wrench the Drain Plug bolt? How does that valve work how does it open/close? Pics are a bit dark. How secure is the valve? leaks? gasket?

Nvm, I think Ima go with what I have been planning since my First car & did my own oil changes but didnt get around to doing it.

"Oil Filter Relocating kit with pump"

I have seen Oil Filter Relocate & Drain Kit Its a pump that sucks the oil out & filter relocated so no more crawling under the car!
Something like this, I've always wanted to install one... One day...

Here is what I found on google...

Well, there is a little lever that you lift and move to the side in order to open the drain. It is spring loaded, but once you get used to the motion, it is very easy to open and close. If it gets stuck, you can use pliers to unloosen it.

Since our cars have a skid plate, I haven't used anything to secure the lever, but if you are running the drain plug uncovered, you can use a hose clamp to ensure that nothing knocks it open:

See the FAQ about "Will my drain plug open while driving?"
