transmission no going in drive and really rough going in park

So today I drove into sport mode auto. I pull out and start driving when I get to the parking lot I go to put it in park and it doesn't really want to go in drive. For it to go in drive you have to put it a certain way in between neutral and drive it drives fine when you get it in the position to drive. Any ideas?

Update now the car won't go into park, reverse, neutral, or drive on the dash its just blank and says transmission service. Won't change from normal to sport also the shifter feels like it has blockage because its really rough

After reading this, i remembered ive wondered this before, whats the process for getting the car into nuetral if the batteries dead? My other cars had a screwdriver hole to use to release the gear.


. I hear a click when i hit the brakes, im thinking its that, maybe a test run is needed.. Anyone?
