Really! Wow! What track was that on?
I haven't had a chance to go to the track to see how fast it can go.

180 kph on the backroads. It felt rock-solid and wanted to go much, much faster. The problem here in Ontario is that if you're caught doing 50 kph over the speed limit (the road I was on was 80, so I was over the limit by 100), you lose your license on the spot, and your car was impounded. Really makes owning an RA frustrating.

Haven't taken mine to the track or an autox yet. Don't push the car (or my luck) on public roads.
/me stays within 5 mph of the speed limit most of the time.

I would like to go sometime to the salt flats in Utah and see what this puppy can do given a few miles of open space. Is it just me or does anyone else think that would fun?

It might be, but I'm not sure I would like the results of exposing the undercarriage to salt. Plus, I'm more of a road/track guy... I'd much rather hit one of the many tracks in Cali.

I was in sport mode of course, and using the paddles first time.. try them out.. great shit by the way and the other time with the stick. I felt as if the panels were gonna fly off... or at least the hood would..

Cool! I have a black one. You ever out driving in Orleans? I saw a white RA out there a little while ago. Can't be that many white RA's in town....

None yet. I just got mine in October. It's still so new that I don't want to mess with it. To be honest I'm a little hesitant to mod it since I've heard Mitsu can be pretty draconion with warranty issues. Anyone have any input on this?

'course all these speeds posted are hypothetical, since speeding is illegal.

Dunno if I said this already but I straight out ask the service guy in the dealership about mods (catback specifically) and he flat out said that it was going to void the warranty. My RA would be a year old this Jan. 16 and I'm starting to see a little rust in the mufflers.

Other than that, I absolutely loved it. Goodyear GT's worked well in snow. My car felt more stable driving in the snow that my wife's Ridgeline.:)

I have hit 145 on the freeways but it seems to get a little lift from there so any more could turn out bad, it needs a little more downforce to go much faster.

I was a little disappointed to find my 09 RA only hits 242 km/hr. Its feels like there could be more but their must be an electronic govenor or something that cuts fuel and timing to protect the engine. Sorry I live in Canada I think the conversion puts that speed a little under 155 Mile per hour.
dmitchell
06-10-2010, 07:03 AM
242 isn't fast enough for you?
I plead the 5th. :D on freeway when I want to feel like a kid again but never in busy traffic only when coast is clear.
I havent drag my RA. Probably never will. RA is made for Rally IMHO.
Plus it get expensive to go fast.
Im more in favor of auto x & precision driving.
I take turns at the posted speed limit without braking.
Tires skipping fighting for traction is mine kinda fun.
Turning & letting the steering wheel spin between my hands.
I did manage to make my tires balder. Tires are expensive.
So Im back to Im not a kid anymore mode.:(
Plus Speeding ticket(s) are not worth speeding for whatever reason.
cost of a speeding ticket = cost of upgrade part(s) or toward a mod for RA.
I rather have my money go to something I can enjoy.;)

The problem here in Ontario is that we have a "Stunt Driving" law. Anyone caught going 50 kph over the posted limit will have their licence suspended on the spot, and the car immediately impounded.
Not to mention the hefty fine, insurance and court costs.

About to trade into 2011 evox gsr.
But he was not the only one there was another evo8 with 2 high school age kids in it they got behind me so I stepped on it and they did too but by 139mph they were still behind they slipped in the next lane and by 145mph they were still unable to pass methey gave up we slowed down and he asked me what I was running..lol true story my wife was with me on the i15 it felt great.

Racergirl, what mods do you have? if any..
Reason i ask is a 350z has roughly 285 hp (older models) and 300 hp (newer models), our ralliarts have 237 hp...did you race him from a dig to the next stop light?

Thats a great reason to keep it on the track. Once you have actually gone to a track day it will change your world. Getting back on the street you feel no more need to drive aggressively. At least thats the way it went for me!
