This is a very easy and cheap mod, all you need is a Phillips screw driver and some LEDs bulbs. The bulb size you need for changing out the licence plate light is 168/194. I got 2 bulbs with 6 SMDs each for $5.50 shipped from eBay.

- There are 2 screws that hold the plastic housing to the wiring harness. Between each housing and the harness there is a piece of weather strip.

- To save some hassle when screwing the housing back to the car, only fully remove 1 of the 2 screws on each housing, leave the other screw attached (and holding) the housing to the harness and rotate the housing a 180 deg so you can swap the light bulb out.

- LEDs bulbs have + and - terminals too. Make sure you turn on the lights to check whether or not you put the bulbs in correctly before screwing the housings back on to the car.

Not to be stupid, but why oh why would you want to make your license plate brighter and easier to see at night? I'd rather have mine dimmer, if you know what I mean.

i agree too.
i just finished mine though and they kind of look weird to me. idk but its because the housing on both the left and right side lights are the same. likethe direction the light goes is the same. so on the right side, its kind of darker? do you kinda know what im talking about? haha i wonder if they make other housing facing the other direction?

yeah they seriously are. I'm definitely buying more LEDs from this same eBay seller in the future, the other ones I've purchased before from elsewhere weren't even half as bright.

I know LED's work great as interior lights. You can actually read things, like maps, in the car at night with them instead of trying to read by candlelight from the standard lighting.

yeah in the future I plan on replacing all the interior dome light with those LED boards that are bright as hell....it'd cost a total of ~$50 if you get the boards from EBay

You'll wonder how you ever lived without them once you have them...

Don`t know about your states guys but here in my province you can get a ticket if your licence plate is not light up properly..

Look better this way IMO. Cheap and easy!:)
