How to: Install Drew's BBK

Tools used:
5/8 drill bit
Dremel or equivalent cutting tool
2lbs Mallet
Pliers

Socket set
18mm Socket
17mm Socket
14mm Socket

Open Wrenches
Metric 10mm Wrench
Metric 17mm wrench

Torque Wrench

Step 1:
Remove wheels

Step 2:
Remove Brake lines.

Remove retainer clips (Close up of retainer clip).

Step 3:
Remove stock calipers.

Step 4:
Remove rotors.

Step 5:
Install SS brake line

Step 6:
Cut brake dust shield

Step 7:
Bore the knuckles to 5/8" diameter

Step 8:
Mount new rotors

Step 9:
Mount bbk calipers

Step 10:
Install new ss brake line to calipers

Repeat step 1 thru 10 for the other side.

Step 12:
Bleed the brakes

Step 13:
Bed the pads

Great write up sir!

Loved the write up but, was wondering since we have a few new owners here that are not quite that mechanically experienced yet. Is it possible to see if you had a couple pictures to throw in for steps 8 and 9. Just to show them the correct orientation when fitting these parts and how you need to seat the pads into the calipers and install the bracket and hardware properly.

Love the write up! Just wanted to add that I would recommend drilling the spindle out in 2 stages, first starting with a 1/2" (0.500", 12.7mm) drill bit, then finishing it up with either a 9/16" (0.5625", 14.3mm), or a 14.5mm bit. A 5/8" is 15.9mm in diameter, and overkill for what is needed to clear the 14mm bolt. Thanks again for an amazing write up!

Installed these this weekend on my RaSb using this how to. Very helpful. I want to add that Evo 8 Enkie's WON'T fit with these. Drew had mentioned it being close. So I thought I would try so that the information was out there.
