I replaced my rear backup bulbs with LED bulbs (Pilot #7440) and when I put the car in reverse they stay on for maybe 5-10 seconds and then switch off. Has anyone had this issue? Is there any way to fix it?

Yes. It is common. LEDs take a good bit less current than incandescent bulbs. The electronics thinks the bulb is burned out, and cuts power. All you need to do is install a load resistor on one of the two sides. It will make them both stay on at that point.

Just patch in to the two wires going to the reverse light on one side (I did Drivers side), and mount the resistor to the trunk lid, right beside the socket. Once you reinstall the cover, you don't even see it.
