Hey guys I am actually picking up my 2010 Tarmac Black Ralliart tomorrow afternoon, upgrading from a GTS, but i have already started to research parts. Im going to run a test pipe and an axel back exhaust. I was looking at the Ultimate Racing test pipe because it is cheaper then AMS and looks pretty similar, idk too much about it though. So if you guys could give me some insight on if the UR test pipe is a good choice and what exhaust is the best that would be great. I obviously want the car to sound mean so if you guys could include videos or sound clips of the exhausts that would be awesome. Thank you in advance and I hope to get to know you all as I begin to mod my RA!

Congrats on the car. First off, where do you live. That would help to direct you to a local supplier.

if you go all ultimate racing from the turbo back, you will have a very very loud exhaust. Annoying drone on the freeway. Police magnet.

another option is to have a local exhaust shop weld up something custom for you.

another option is RoadRace Engineering. They have all manner of exhaust available for your car.

Or order some really expensive shiney JDM thingy.

I have a magnaflow axelback and it sounded sick man..but soon i deleted the resonator... which gave it more grump, but as if that wasn't enough i went for the third time and did a full 3in cat delete.. and holy shit does it scream I eat lil children... you cant go wrong with this setup.. heard the UR exhaust on youtube.. and well they're okay, but too damn loud and scream ricer.. so i went with magnaflow, since i had it on my 2008 eclipse and that sounded great when I had it on. So my point would be to just do a cat delete, to Magnaflow.. if u want (and make sure to have it be 3in too Magnaflow) (its a off-set dual out let exhaust) .. NO rasp, or annoying drone on my end. Heard it from out side the other day, and well its reminds me of my neighbors 5.0 Mustang who has straight pipes, which is basically what my setup is, but with a high performance muffler, gives a deep and strong sound, through the whole Rpm band.. so you definitely can't go wrong with this setup!!!

ill try to post a vid, thou on the vids i have on the camera were to close to the muffler, so it had a rasp sound from the air leaving the muffler :( i'll need to make another vid.. the best explanation i have @ the moment to how this sounds.. is if u ever heard a subaru with a cat back goin off, this would be the same sound... love it it just perrrs & if u floor it it yells I'll bite your, you know wut off!

Hey everyone so i think after doing some research and listening to the sounds of the different exhausts I have def decided to go with the ultimate racing catback. i figure while i am ordering this maybe i should order their intake as well since it only goes for 150, but before i do i was wondering if any of you had experience with both products and if so maybe you could tell me how it effected the power on the car and the sound. i am aware of how the catback sounds, beast haha, but i was wondering if the intake adds any extra sound. video would help for sound and dyno sheets for performance, but just your opinions will help me out too. also i was wondering if i had to tune the car, or atleast get the cobb access port, after doing these mods. i am pretty sure i dont for the exhaust, but i heard i did for the intake. i do plan on getting the cobb accessport eventually, but after all the money im throwing down on the exhaust it might be awhile. let me know what you all think and thank you in advance!

Great that your getting a Cobb, you cant go wrong, yes you will need a tune with this all done, preferably you should get a street tune, since its more realistic, since you get to factor in wind resistance, drag, from the atmosphere. Yes there will be an increase in the sound from the intake, think of it as almost being like a muffler in your engine bay aswell @ your rear when you floor it, but when you drive it normally, your hear lil too-no noise from it, but you well notice an increase in the sound of your BOV, especially if u have an aftermarket one.

i dont have an aftermarket BOV (which is blow off valve correct?) because i heard they werent good for the car, but i guess i was ill informed? lol and i have decided to not go with the intake. just the exhaust. with just the exhaust do i still need the tune? thank you for the info btw you have been very helpful!

Sorry I disagree! But I love my Utimate Racing Complete turbo back setup. I too thought it might be to loud so I spent the extra $80 bucks and got the resonator added in. If you really want it quiet either live with the stock restrictive heavy exhaust or go Ultimate and add both the resonator and mini muffler option which will further quiet the noise but still give you the nice sound you want the flow you want and some major weight reduction in the process and is a simple bolt on you can do yourself in the driveway or have a muffler shop do the removal of the old and in with the new Utimate setup in less than 1 hr.
