hi guys, i have a new 09 lancer ralliart and i want to warm it up a bit, its a beautiful car to drive as it is but a little more torque would be nice:cool:
i have been to MRT and they want $4600 for the XB kit wich includes a new intake and new exhaust plus an ECUTEK tune.
i have also been to HKS and they offer the same thing except they use a new computer, not the ECUTEK upgrade.
i dont know wether to go for one of these or try good tuners and mechanics not affiliated with either HKS or MRT.
any ideas?
i live in brisbane queensland so proximity would be good:)
talk to ya later

That's a bit excessive, don't you think?
You can get a COBB Access Port, test pipe and a base map for under 600 USD and be running close to 300TQ and 260WHP. Can't see what you'd be getting for 4600 AUD, but it better include a X turbo. ;)

yeah, i agree that its excessive blaze, thanks for the reply.:)
i havent heard of these parts so i dont know if they are available in brisbane?

well, shipping your car to the US for a tune is out of the question. I'm a little unfamiliar with aussie tuners other than whiteline for suspension. perhaps they know of another tuner to recommend?
$400 USD is average price for an ECU tune.
That intake and exhaust better be made from aircraft grade titanium. I would think you could find intakes/exhausts cheaper and install them yourself, then take for a tune later.

thanks guys, i emailed cobbtuning earlier today so i will see what they say.
i also spoke to an australian tuning workshop and he said that the cobb flash is not suitable for ozzie models, i wouldnt have thought there would have been a difference?

ps. unfortunately the said australian workshop is in sydney which is 800 miles south.
heh, i can feel a road trip coming on:eek:

the search continues:rolleyes:

Hey guys in regards to tunes, i would suggest a custom tune on your car, there have been some cases with tunes from the US installed in the Aus version RA with some bad results, with the cars running to lean and going into limp mode.

Creatd Motorsports in Melbourne have tuned many of these RA's and there getting some great results. On a standard exhuast and intake they have managed 171kw at the wheels, thats a 30kw increase.

blackbeast,
well, shipping your car to the US for a tune is out of the question.lol, c`mon arn`t u yanks gonna spend some bucks on international relations and help out a disadvantaged australian?

and pmr, looks like the best bet so far in brissy is an ecutek tune, a bit expensive at $1900 but a free first service and cheaper subsequent services for as long as i want might soften the blow, might.;)
ps pmr i sorted out the intake and the exhaust here.
its really nice, not much louder than the stock exhaust, but full flow through and a lovely puuuuuuuuur!
