ok, guys input please.
i have the ra now at 171.1 kw at the wheels.
i`ll post the dyno graphs, before and after.
so how do they look, i`m happy so far in the limited time i`v had to drive it.
it seems all good, the turbo comes in a bit softer cos he lowered the boost a little but it is in peak for a longer rev range.
the around town driveability has not changed, it will still do 40kph in 5th, np.
looking forward to your analysis.
BB.

I don't know? I would be concerned with 4200 rpm where your AFR goes lean. the target afr should be 11.5 . I'm sure it's just a one time anomaly.

anyway it looks like 171kw = 229.3150hp. for just a CBE and a drop in? looks good.

okay, whats a CBE and whats a DROP IN GG:confused:

GG, my tuner said the optimum afr was 12:confused: the target afr should be 11.5

GPD, silly me, of course it does:):)

12:1 afr is the target for NA cars. It looks like, through out most of the rpm range they are keeping near 11.8, it's just at that one spot it goes up to 12.2:1 afr. That's the spot where, if it is a consistent lean spike, your car goes boom.
We need to get Mike from RRE to chime in here, as he is the resident expert. I'm just stating what I've heard.

Every dyno AFR reading will be a little different. I shoot for 11.5:1 on 91 octane myself. But my dyno AFR reads about 1/2 point lean stuck in the tail pipe. So my charts would read just along under the 12:1 line. We compare it often while dynoing cars that come through with onboard wide band AFR meters. Zeitronix or AEM. It is pretty consistent. Also you can get some variations run to run if measuring after the cat as it runs cooler or hotter.

Bottom line... you both could be right. Or not :-) Talk to the tuner and tell him the internets are telling you that your car is going to blow up! ;-) I dont print out AFR charts for this reason. Octane used, O2 sensor location, cat/no cat... all has to be taken into consideration. Some cars just love it lean and mean and dont knock. I'll show it to the customer and go over the details of what he ended up with and why. But putting them on the internet for peer review just makes more work.

Myself, I would work on a flatter AFR and getting it to hold more boost up top.

thanks for the quick reply Mike, i live in Oz so we run 98 octane if that makes a difference?
BB.
ps, he also said he could add more boost if he was allowed to install a MRT turbo to cat pipe, and i`m a fool for boost.
i dont know what advantage the mrt pipe would have over the stock one allowing him to raise boost, but i`m sure he`ll tell me;)

If it weren't true, I might be insulted. Ha ha. The best we can get in California is 91 octane :(

To continue with the thread-jacking, I must attest that XXXX, Fosters or other Aussie beer I had was any stronger than local stuff I've had. I mean, I've had local stuff with 8% content and more. Although, Aussie cans are usually bigger and all...

Let's get this straight, I'm with you 100% when it comes to bud, coor's, miller or any other mass market beer - it sucks big time and I would rather drink water if given a choice between one of those and water. My favorite line to tell people when they offer me one of these is, "I can't trust a beer I can see through".

I'm talking about something like Fat Tire, Deschutes Black Butte Porter, Rogue XS Imperial Stout or Pete's Wicked Ale to name a few high quality beers. These all have a healthy dose of alcohol, actually taste like something and have a lovely finish.

Now, would you please list some specifics of something stronger than XXXX, VB or the like? :D

love the quote, can i use it?:p
"I can't trust a beer I can see through".
i`ll get back to u on the upmarket beer after some research:p
i drink XXXX as a rule and its 4.6%.
of course thats metric percentage, not imperial.:D

Most of the beers I mentioned run the range of 5%-8.5%. Metric.
