Just bought a ProSport Mechanical Boost gauge and I made a fiberglass gauge pod to put it in, but as far as routing the hose from the gauge to the T-Splice on the turbo has anyone done it or knows a way to route that hose. The gauge pod is located on the bottom of the driver side pillar. Also where to do the T-Splice ... cuz there is already a T-SPlice from the turbo (one goes to the wastegate and the other goes to some connector) should I put it on the wastegate side or the the side that goes to that connector? Below is a picture of what im talking about. Thanks in advance!!!:D

Better to splice into the BOV hose.

If you splice into the boost control hoses you wont see vacuum.

Also there is a small restrictor pill in the boost control hose along with the pressure in that hose system gets leaked off to work the wastegate properly.

you said you wired your into your fuse box ... which one the inside or the engine compartment? my gauge has 3 wires positive, neg., acc., and a headlight switch wire(which i dont think i need) did your have a headlight switch wire?

Ralliart26

i wired mine into the fuse box inside the cabin. i did not use the headlight wire mostly because i don't really care if the light is on all the time. for the acc wire i used the cig lighter fuse ;)

I was thinking of youing a o ring to mount the negative to an existing bolt in the chassis... What did you do? Again thanks for your help!

Hey how did you guys wire your gauge? Im using the door locks for constant power, cig for acc, the bolt next to fuse box for ground, but I cant find where to put the white wire so that it will change color. Im trying to have the gauge white during day and amber at night. any help is greatly appreciated thanks.

I'm trying to do this too. So far the best option seems to be to splice into the tail light wire running in the door sill. Its supposed to be green and white striped i believe. I haven't had a chance to check it out yet, right now i'm running white all the time.

Rexpeed pillar + Prosport gauges

Its a cell phone pic so thats why the gauges look all smudgy. They are clear in person.

Very cool, I definitely want to get a guage pillar installed. Need a way to monitor boost and maybe something else.

How much was the Rexpeed pillar? I'm having a difficult time removing the driver's side A-pillar, any tips?

I got mine used so I can't help you on that. Just PM Rexpeed on EvolutionM. I will say that its not a perfect match to OEM, the material is a little bit more shiny and feels a bit cheap. I don't think it was worth the money imo, even buying used. You stick it on over the stock pillar with double sided tape. Its not a direct replacement. Despite this, Its still the cheapest one on the market that I know of.

Here is a guide on how to remove the pillar: http://www.ami-customs.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=5:-how-to-install-or-remove-an-evo-x-a-pillar-with-a-gauge-pod-&catid=4:step-by-step&Itemid=4

Ah, thanks for the guide. I'll pass on the Rexpeed, I don't want something that goes over the existing pillar, I want a replacement.

that how-to on evom does not work for the 2011's. well the wiring part does not.

Plus the grommet on the inside is not there on the ralliart. I just installed my boost gauge and spent 1+ hours looking for that damn grommet. I ended up going through the gommet where the harness is for door components and thru the fender.

I didn't want to have to drill or cut any factory interior pieces so i got a cheapo pod that's held on by double sided tape.

I wish they had a custom mount that you could put beneath the center radio on the center console where the cubbies are. I never use them and would rather have that area full of different guages than just empty, wasted space. The A-pillar is the only solution that woudl be fine for me unless I could find something else with a clean look.

IMO cp-e makes the best gauge pod but you have to pony up some big bucks for it. $210!!

Right, but on the 2010 and up models the cubby area is different. That is the older Lancer cubby, the newer ones have two doors that open up, like so:

See I dunno if I would like that or not. They say it doesn't obstruct your view... unless you're over 6 foot I can see maybe not but I'm 5'7". Unless I raised the seat level, but that would just look retarded.

I'm sure those cubbys can be taken out and replaced with whatever part# ours have.

theres a how-to on evolutionm.net but it does not work for the 2011 ralliart. some of the fuses moved lol. it took me about 3 hours to figure that part. on the left of the stering wheel theres the asc button, and wires go into one of the blank buttons so i cut that wire for the 12v. but its always on full brightness and it only turns on with the city lights. so i need to fix that lol

It'll fluctuate. When i first startup and the engines cold, it's around -10. When the engine's all warmed up and been driving for a while, it's around -20 on idle. My car's pretty stock except for the exhaust.

mine stays in -10 bro... .. like i drive for 30-40 mins prolly and park.. (not shutting down) and my idle still -10..

i talked to tech support from glowshift.. n they said there might be a leak somewhere... so i gotta check it .. =/

I put some zip ties wherever there was a vacuum connection to make sure there's no leaks. I had to buy my own hose because the one that comes with the kit isn't long enough for the way that i routed it. Maybe your hose is pinched somewhere.

guys i found a great place to route vaccuum tubing thru firewall. It is on the driver side, the left of the master cylinder(sitting in car) .Its in the corner if you are peeking in from driver side, kind of under the left hood hinge if you will. The airbox has to come out to access this grommet, about 1 " in size.Under the dash it is the farthest upper corner on the firewall, behind some insulation that you have to peel back.Il l try to get pics tomorrow.

Nice, can't wait to see the pics, sounds like it might be easy enough to run a vacuum line through this route.

I answered his question via PM. In short, no, I didn't disable anything. I'm just not worried about getting hit in the face in the rare event that it would happen if its even possible for it to happen. :P
