ok guys, so far the ecutek tuner says he can only possibly get 18 pounds out of the turbo and that at 100% gate outlet, not that i know what that means.
can someone please explain what he means by that?
okay, i just read the BOV thread, so i guess he`s talking about the wastegate?. good thread btw.
now i have added a flow through cat and am getting an engine warning light, which i`m sure is EMMISION CONTROL caused by the new cat, so its back to the tuner tommorow.:(

QUESTION. whats the best way (cheapest, safest) way to add more boost, or is 18 pounds adequete?
QUESTION. wtf is a BOOST PILL?

I don't know that our turbo can push much more than 18-20lbs of boost. I saw one member on here post 22psi, but that seems high to me and could possibly reduce longevity of the turbo.
More boost? Bigger turbo. Its not the cheapest, but its the safest. Its hard to put safe and cheap in the same sentence with automotive add on products...

Could this be a metric conversion issue? So, is it 18psi? The boost pill is a small brass plug that has a small hole in it. It is in the vacuum line that goes to your waistgate actuator. I'm guessing your tuner wants to change the size of the pill to control you pressure. I don't know how it works, but I'm sure Mike from rre could shed some light on the subject.

I thought the Ralliarts run close to 18 psi of boost stock, tapering down to ~10 psi.
I'd wait for Mike or Bryan to chime in. They are the guys to listen to.

They are probably talking about boost at redline. If you just pull the hose off the wastegate actuator (no boost control at all) boost goes up to about 28 psi and drops to 15 psi. At 6,200 rpm it was 18 psi.
More info is needed to make any kind of judgement on your boost. But if he is talking about 18 psi max (peak) boost, he needs to get busy making a boost pill with a smaller orifice.

mike, guys, heres a pic of the current graph.
btw, his mandate was more low range torque and more low range boost.
