Grrrrrrr! So after a 12 hour day at the shop, I go to back out of my parking spot. Only to find that someone had parked the work truck cattywampus behind my car. Of course I didn't see it!!!! :'( Damn damn damn!!!! The fender is munched, also it totally broke the front light. All the tabs broke off the housing. I wonder how much a projector HID headlight costs. The only plus is that it didn't hit my new wheel.

Well put it this way... you can buy everything for the EVO X turbo swap and the tune for less than you will pay for a headlight and a fender :-(

When it is time to paint it, we have a great local painter (James, the same guy Mueller uses) that does great work for a great price. It is the week for this kind of stuff :-P Have a customer that his GF just backed his EVO X into his EVO IX. Twofer One Week! Double sideswipeage!

On man that's way worse. I actually feel better now. Thanks. I ordered the fender and light. The fender was cheap, LOL. The light on the other hand...

Well, went to South Coast Mitsubishi today, picked up my new headlight, and fender. Rigo in service took the fender for me to the body shop to have the inside painted before they do the installation. I took the light home and switched out all the innards, and installed it :D Next step, the body shop!!!
I have to say Rigo from SCM has been a god send. He took care of getting the parts, transferred said parts to the proper repair facilities, got the paint estimate, and set up the appointment. So far this has been the easiest, and inexpensive accident I've ever been in.

So, update, my car is completely done. I ended up not using the fender I bought. Rigo from South Coast Mitsubishi, told me it would be better for the value of my car if we just fixed the existing fender. Apparently body parts have the vin # marked on them, so when you change anything, it's a tell tale sign you've had an accident. I was dubious as to weather they could fix it, but I trust Rigo, so just left it in his hands. Also he was able to get me a full refund on the fender.
Now this is the scary part, I dropped off the car on Friday, and picked it up this morning. There is no way you can tell it has ever been in an accident, I am amazed. I will post up some pictures tomorrow. The icing on the cake was the price though. I'm not going to post up what I got it done for, but it was not much over what my deductible would have been had I used insurance. Very happy with the outcome of this bad situation.

Oh yeah, THANK YOU RIGO!!!!!

Yeah, that's the truth. When I was selling my GSX last month one guy went over the car with a fine tooth comb and he noted that the VIN wasn't legible on one body panel and got suspicious it was in an accident. I pointed out the car was 12 years old and where the sticker was it was somewhat exposed. Also the fact there *was* a sticker showed it was the original panel.

Who knew? :)

Why couldn't someone just change the sticker?

The sticker is designed to come apart when you peel it off. That way you cant traffic in stolen parts so easily. The parts have to have either the factory VIN sticker or the replacement "R-DOT" sticker. Otherwise they are assumed to be stolen.

Damn Damn Damn Pt. 2

Two days ago driving home, i ran over a metal pipe (tiny pipe; didnt think anything of it). Turns out i knicked the corner of the pipe and made a nasty hole in the tire...cant patch it; too close to the sidewall. As i was driving home from the tire place i get a message on the dash "AWD System Service Required" WTF!

So im pending on taking my car to the dealer...busy w/ work (atleast i can say that :))

Thanks

But you were driving with the mini spare? I got the same warning when driving with the mini spare. It will go away when you get your correct tires all figgered out.

Thanks Mike! I was driving on the mini spare. I found it odd that the flashing warning didnt come on with the initial impact.

So that being said...anyone have a spare USED 215/45R18 89W

Thanks,
