Took a rock in the windshield on the way home from work today on the highway. Cracked my windshield all the way across. I stopped at the glass shop on the way home - almost 2k for a new windshield!!! Needless to say I'll be making an insurance claim.

Damn.

I dunno man, but apparently it's made of diamonds, lol.

Seriously, though, the guy at the glass shop said that the rain sensor in the windshield adds a lot to the cost. He said it's bar none the most expensive windshield he's ever quoted.

For $1700 extra, I can turn the wipers on and off myself :-/

That's what I'm saying. Who cares about the rain sensor?

What's so good about the rain sensor? I didn't even know we had one.

We dont its not even an option for US but for Canada RA has little different std/options. Either way it shouldnt cost that much & if it does, get regular windshield & forget about the rain sensor.

2000 grand for your windshield!!!! Holy fnck!!! I wonder if a dash warning light would activate if the rain sensor wasn't hooked back up? Sorry for your loss. That's a lotta dough!

Damn, the OEM windshield with the rain sensing option is only 792.85 US dollars list price. I couldn't imagine installation being any more than 100-150.

Maybe Canadian labor is more expensive? :D
