Indeed. Ever slice your finger on that stupid piece of sheet metal sticking out by the middle of the strut tower bar?

I took all the heavy mounting crap off that came with it.
I dont like the clips/clamps that was on there.
It'll weigh down the mirror & on bumps or vibration it will shift down-ward angle.
Mine is held on by zipties, the angle shift switch still works.
And zipties makes it light & perfect. :D

over 11yrs ago on "As seen on TV" store in the Mall for 20 bucks. They might not have exact one anymore...

http://www.amazon.com/s/qid=1277179856/ref=sr_pg_1?ie=UTF8&keywords=wide%20rear%20view%20mirror&bbn=15684181&rh=n%3A15684181%2Cn%3A!15690151%2Ck%3Awide%20rear% 20view%20mirror&page=1

there are a few here on a budget that doesnt look too bad. as long as it eliminate blind spots. custom modding will require with most universal items anyways.

About a few months ago, I joined TeamREV. Consists of misc Cars but mostly EVOs VIIIs, IXs, Xs. Nissan 370, AMG, BMW M3, & idk how many different cars but we're growing fast.

I was very humble by the fact that they all have 300+ & 400+whp.
Although I cant catch up to them in a straight away, I can keep up around corners & mt. runs in the stock skinny tires.
After a few meets & BBQ, I decided to join TeamREV.
They are down-to-earth people (young & old, guys & girls)
& Teammates helps each other & we all have different hook ups.
I help out with simple bolt-on stuff,
they help me out with letting me borrow tools.
So my experience with a first team I ever joined has been so far, so good!

As long as I am still accepted in the ClubRalliart, I will continue to post here.
I still feel this site is still the best for 09+ Ralliart & info, just need more knowledgeable people posting & people helping others.

I just did my first mountain run @ Mt Hamilton from San Jose to Livermore.
Twisties & hairpins.
Scary, Exciting, & Fun all the same time.
I wore glove to prevent my hand slipping on the wheel. All stock suspension, Tires, Brakes, & I was surprise to take turns @ 2nd & 3rd gear 4-5k rpm 40-60mph.
I had my TC-SST in Sports Mode average 14.6mpg I was taking turns pretty hard my stock tires lost half its life & feathered squealing on all the turns.
Took several fast sharp turns to get used to the extreme body rolls & understeer corrections. Turn before the turn.

It was a great experience for me. Uphills were easier than downhill cause my Ralliart became very heavy in the front & I would turn before the turns to make sure I dont understeer off the cliff. I wished I had in-car cam.
I was showered with loose gravel from following the EVO X too close
Had my heater on full blast to keep the engine cool & windows down.
Got hit in the face by loose rock kicked up by the EVO X.

Im an adrenaline junkie! I scared both EVO X they thought I was gonna hit the mountain or drive right off the cliff or rear end them but I made home in one piece & learned how Ralliart handles in stock form. paint looks ok we'll see after a car wash...

I was trying to take a snap shot while driving
1st shot, 2nd shot, & 3rd shot. oh no! Understeer!! lol.
I threw the camera down & started driving seriously.
I moved up the line to the more experienced Mt Evos that been up there numerous times.

It was fun. We had walkie talkie to warn about other drivers, bikers & hikers.
Some part of the road are just crazy like Hairpin uphill. Narrow roads & no guardrail hairpins. back to back sharp blind turns & cattle guards.

Sometimes they carry a box of 6 individual quart bottles. With a coupon you can usually get a box for about 25 bucks (I think). Its been over a year though since I usually stock up on a bunch of boxes when I get the coupon.

took off my wing today.
Two bolts & a tab are all there was holding the wing onto the trunk.

I got some import plastic plugs 3$ @ Kragen & outfitted em wit 3m tape to plug the holes left by the wing.

+ I can see through the rear window now.
+ I lost about maybe*-5lbs I thought it would be heavier.
+ Ralliart feel different on the freeway speed. It feels alot lighter @ higher speed!!! Rear feels like Its floating now...
I can take on-ramps faster stock tires squealing!!!

I can definitely feel the difference without the wing since I have driven it with it on for 22k miles.

Ask & you shall receive. Sry been slaving away.

Only bad thing is the scratches from the wing sitting there without any gasket or washer or rubber... its just paint to paint contacts.

Decisions decisions. Definitely like it wingless. I personally think the plugs would bug me but then again, I would be able to see out the back window. And with the tint, it would be much easier to see without the wing. Damn it. Decisions decisions.

How fast were you going when it started to feel unstable?

Too fast too furious speed...:D wind can make it unstable too...
when you track keep it on... freeway speed + heavy wind = unstable.
It does feel lighter but need steering input to stay straight.

I had a wrench day with the teamrev.

It was hott today! 100* degree!
I finally installed my EVO X FMIC on my RA!
BIG THANKS to wutangmo15 for ordering me the tube/pipe w/ beaded lips that I needed to swap to EVO X FMIC, UICP, & LICP.
it was hot so the process was slow all metal aluminum was hot & under direct sun.
I wasnt feeling too good either from the heat...
I had help with wrenching & extra hands from teammates which made the process faster & less load on me taking all the bolts off the car to remove front bumper. remove TC-SST plastic air funnel. remove the battery Part of bottom splash guard & Stock RA parts: UICP, LICP, FMIC.
LICP is a pain in the @$$ to get to! especially on the driveway. lol.
& I always manage to cut myself, my thumbnail feels like I had pry it upwards...Idk what I did, oh well no pain, no gain.
So now I can say "I put blood & sweat in/on the RA". lol
But after I got everything back on & took a test drive, it felt good.
Took it for a short mt run,
Stock Tires howled through turns! Threw some weight around & I forgot my helmet was in the back seats so it was flying around! (not good for the helmet! DOH!)
The RA is breathing better now, I guess...
All in all it feels about the same as before... until I got on the freeway..
Im doing a hair below 3k rpm 6th gear & @ 75mph.. usually I'll be somewhere around 70mph @ 3k rpm in 6th gear. So I guess its a little faster..

I'll post some pics tomorrow, & sry guys I didnt take pics of the tear down & DIY pics. but I'll see if I can start a DIY thread for this once I change my Fog lights....

it is safe to say, i pushed the limit of these stock yoko tires...
http://clubralliart.com/gallery/albums/userpics/10139/DSCN0882.jpg

Full weight, spare tire in the trunk. EVO X FMIC, X UICP, X LICP, EVO IV BOV, rest stock. ASC OFF, SPORT MODE Manual. Mainly in 2nd gear.
I had no grip so I was sliding through every turns & I could feel the tires after my first lap did 54.578 & I did ok on my second lap did 50.691.
my third lap, I kept the pedal to the metal! Messed up got back on the gas for inertia drift too soon & caught the steering too soon & I spun out! lol did 62.416sec.
fourth lap was better than my first with 53.136.
fifth & final lap 52.004.

All of that & I still didnt hit any cones.. :)
Yeah I learned alot today not enough air in 'em tires but I had a lot of TIRE HOWLING FUN!
I was just driving it hard as I could...

Big Thanks 2 Wutangmo15!!! If werent for you I would be watching other people drive & if I get really lucky sit in the passenger seat of the fastest car on the track. I went back on Sunday for the second time but I didnt think those tires last another 5laps of me driving it so I got to ride in the 42sec EVO X with Seafault/Issac. His EVO X pulls very strong. Too bad he is a cone killer. lol. That video I posted is from Seafault EVO X 42sec run.
So Thanks again Wayne! Because of Those tires you gave me, I was able to drive on the mountains & rigorous torture of AAS 5laps of AutoX & gave me the necessary experience/feedback I needed to learn to drive it @ its limit. Im still rolling on those tires right now. :)

^^^^ No problem. Better you use them than them being recycled.

Just curious, how did your brakes hold up?

lol. ROFL. I hardly use them cause I dont have money for that, When I did use my brakes I just tap the brakes a bit just to reduce abit of speed + tires wouldnt stop the car anyways at that speed (45-50mph 2nd gear) it would've plowed thru the cones, so I just slide & drifted thru turns with lift-off oversteering, Throttle, & countersteer. Lot of sensitive throttle controll with awhole lot of steering input = Steering with throttle. I spun out on the back to back S turns trying to beat my 50sec time. Steering input error & too early on the throttle. (Im still a crappy driver)
People say AWD understeers. lol I over steered & spun out. I never did use my e-brake I should've on certain turns would've gotten better time out there. Especially on my third run when I spun out I should've use abit of e-brake.
I need more practice & a place to pratice so autox is the best control environment. Now I know what it takes to spin out. :D

To answer your question, the brake are fine because I limit the usage of the brakes. But under pressure & elevation differences & loose gravel on the track it really doesnt do anything compared to the EVO X Brembo braking power/Issac drove everytime he brakes it launches me forward no matter how prepare I am in the passenger seat. lol. Bang my head/helmet on his side pillar. lol

I went to Sacramento Raceway Park today. My first time on the Drag Race track. I got 5 runs in. It was HOT!

1st run, I was staged & didnt know how to line-up to trip the sensors. lol.
Went all the way under the tree. waiting for the lights to change.. what a rookie I am...lol. So I learned where the sensors were. Learned to line-up today. Burnt rubber & fumes from all the high-power funny cars & fully built bikes made me feel kinda sick. & they are deafing LOUD!!!! You can feel their engine in your chest loud!
I skipped the oil or water whatever it was. No burn out for me.. No thank you.
Im still on stock tires that I took for autox 38psi damn nearly bald.
Evo X FMIC, Evo X UICP, Evo X LICP, EVO IX Bov, K&N Drop-In, Custom Stock Tune from Bryan@GST (b4 EVO X parts) Stock everything else.
Oh yeah Ralliart Socks & Team Rev Stickers..
I got pretty good launch & did my run felt pretty good no mistakes & skipped the time-slip booth (That rookie that Iam) didnt get my time...

So I staged again for another run
Official record with time slip
My reaction was slow & didnt launch.

Reaction: 1.477
