so i went to the local drag strip on friday nite to see how much difference in time the flash tune made. my best run b4 the tune was 14.0.
so i did my run and went 13.25@ 102.52mph. the run was late at nite and about 6 degrees so it was cold, other runs where 13.5,13.6,13.4.
last run was the best with a 1.9 60 ft time.

the car is going in for an exhaust system and a re-tune tomorrow so i might hit the 12 very soon.
i blew away an evo x aswell... save money buy a ralliart.

Nice Run... Did you launch your RA at all?
If you hold brake & tap the gas it free up the clutch like a few RA owner had said & have tried it.
I gave it a go last night left foot brake & tap the gas pedal. & I was able to rev without jerking or wanting to move forward.
But I didnt launch it. Why? too many cops around waiting to make tickets rain.

yeah that was with a launch its worth nearly half a second,it can be hard to get rite though it didnt work well for me everytime but you gotta give it a go.

What exactly are your mods? Stock rubber? I have traction issues that get my 60ft a high 1.9 usually a 2.0 flat. Pump 91 octane? Very good times. I will be hitting the track again on Jan 8th to hopfully get low 13's.

Yeah it seems our cars love higher octane.

I can get away with 91 Octane in the summer, but when it dips below -20 I use 94 octane which has some ethanol in it. Free gasline antifreeze as far as I am concerned. If I don't use the 94 in the really cold weather my check engine light comes on but will go away if I switch back to 94 or the weather get warmer.

I have K&N drop in and GST base tune and I ran a 13.7 the other night. My reaction times sucked (.9's) but it was my first time on a strip. Overall I was happy with my time, I just gotta work on my R/T.

Ralliart23

our car is kinda tricky to get a good reaction time with when launching because there is a slight delay after letting go of the break while your tapping the gas.

yeah, I noticed that. I was at the track with two other RA's. They ran 13.3 and 13.2, but have bolt on's and custom tune. Both had much better R/T's but it wasn't their first time at the track either. I think if I could improve the R/T, then maybe I can hit 13.5, which wouldn't be bad since I dont have any bolt on's yet. My first run was a 14.5, but I didn't launch the car that time. Launch is deffinitely the way to go!

I still don't get the whole tapping thing. How fast do you tap and how hard do you push down? I tried it and it just made my car lurch forward like it does when you just hold the brake and accelerator down without tapping so I'm assuming I was doing it wrong.

Ok I got a question I have the complete UR Exhaust, Evo X IC UR pipes, new BOV custom tune every bolton I could think of etc.. Turbo is stock and will have Evo X GSR rims and tires on. Is there anything else besides taking the spare tire out of the trunk,
I can do to get a faster time.

2nd part of the question with all my mods and tune what should I expect for 1/4 mile time. I am seeing a lot of times posted in the mid 13 second range. Should I expect a time of aprox 13.7 or do you think I can run faster? If so what is your guess of what my time should be?

Looking for feed back because the race track in my area won't even be open til the end of May so all I can do is wait. Looking for ideas that will make my car faster, while keeping in mind that it's my daily driver.

Those are some great times with such few mods. I agree on the comment about saving money with the Ralliart. It also seems like the people that are getting the best times are the ones that have a custom tune with their aftermarket parts.

I have seen some videos on youtube of the tapping method. Just looks like some quick light pressure taps to get the revs up, then release the break and slam on the gas and off you go.

R/T has no bearing on your ET. You could sit at the green light for five minutes if you wanted to, although the guy working might yell at you. ;)

I think what Bryan is saying is that the timer for your lane does not start until your wheel break the second light beam so your reaction time has no bearing. Just the time it takes after you break forward beam turns timer on at starting line until you break beam at finish line which turns timer off. So Basically your car needs to go faster to get a better time. At least this is my understanding, correct me if I am wrong.
