Hey guys,
Is there any way to have the mp3 player one of the options I can switch to through the steering wheel controls? In other words I have to press/hold the cd/mp3 button on the dash to get my mp3 player to activate, but why can't I just cycle through modes on the steering wheel ie. fm, am, cd, MP3? Is there any way to acheive this?

From my research, there is no way to do this. I'm not sure why Mitsubishi didn't just have it like that since every other car has that. They dropped the ball on this one.
I ended up getting a new head unit because of this. I added a touch screen with a computer connected and had no way of getting to AUX mode.
hmm... Mode on the left side of the steering wheel.
What kind of radio do you have & mp3 player & how it is hooked up?
Pics??

I wish the Mode button worked. It sounds like he is using the stock stereo. In the car manual, it shows cycle order for the Mode button on the wheel and for some reason, AUX is missing from that list.

Thats weird cause mine works from my wheel maybe cause I got MMCS (Mitsu Nav w/ 40GB HDD) I just tested & it works... am, fm, cd or dvd (which ever in the drive), Music server, Aux

I'm jealous. It would've saved me soooooo much trouble if Mitsu had included AUX in the Mode cycle on the wheel.
If you get MMCS (Nav with 40GB HHD & extra features). I can make MMCS DVD player to play Movies while you're driving. I did it to mine & I hooked up two evo x last night. we're all very :D
(I do not watch it while Im driving but the passengers can *Drive & pay attention to the road*)

Yep, on mine with the Navi/DVD/screen dealio it cycles to AUX too with the Mode button on the steering wheel.
Send me the modded DVD to play to make it play movies. I have the file but my DVD burner sucks. I'll trade you for a factory manual on CD! Or some cookies or something.

Yup, I'm dealing with the stock head unit, and I don't have the mmcs package. I will eventually be swapping out my head unit, and I'll likely hardwire a connection to the center storage box between the seats. Thanks for the feedback guys
