I need to take pictures, but.. the factory, though smaller, does provide a cheap easy way to get ram air out of it :)
Look at the plastic bit covering the top of the Rad. I simple cut here and there, and a plate fab'd... viola!

I'd like to see the pics:)
Cold air intake is a bad idea for Ralliart the place where COLD air intake would sit, already has TC-SST tranny cooler. If you get the cold air intake in there it would block out air for TC-SST cooler. Bad for the tranny.
If anything you would need to relocate the battery & get AEM intake for Evo X & its carb legal with Sticker.

@ GAbOS I already fabbed my own SRI using a evo x maf housing and K&N cone filter. It's the exact same setup as the Ultimate Racing SRI. Only issue I have is that the filter comes loose every once in a while so I kind of ghetto rigged it so that it doesn't come off. I currently started a car club and I already have a few sponsors so I wanted to get a legit intake for show and performance purposes. Besides I can get it through my sponsors so price is not really an issue. Just wanted to see if anyone had one they decided not to put on or is relatively new.

@ MTZL I've also heard that a CAI is a bad idea for our RAs and that SR is they way to go. But I've seen more output with dyno tuning on cars that have a CAI vs. a SRI. So I guess it's down to preference, also intakes like the Injen one give you the option to convert to SR. Also don't really feel like relocating the battery just to house a intake.

I know a guy on socalevo.net selling a cold air injen intake for 150 fairly new
evo x gsr doesnt have TC-SST cooler will benefit from CAI with bigger turbo.
evo x MR & Ralliart has TC-SST cooler in front of the driver side wheel on Left Hand Drive (LHD) TC-SST cooler will be in front of passenger side wheel for RHD.
so its not something I would get unless you get SSP front mount TC-SST cooler, you can possibly run into TC-SST overheating issue(s).
If you get SSP front mount TC-SST cooler it will be taking air flow from FMIC visa versa. so stay away from bad designs.
My suggestion: save your money for something else.
TC-SST upgrades (clutch, upgraded coolers + 1qt) & Oil Cooler with oil catch can. Reliability mods before power mods.

@ MTZL Thanks for the input! I'm aware the the air filter sits in front of our tranny cooler as well as restricts air flow that could potentially pose an issue. My idea was to get an intake that was carb exempt; be it CAI or not, mainly for show purposes but also for the added power. I know Injen is not carb exempt as of yet, but AEM's is. Also got asked by a sponsor if I want to use my vehicle as a prototype for a K&N intake, so I'll see what comes of that.

I dont understand
After a tune the intake becomes useless....the only reason i would get an intake is if i want that SWOOOOSH sound to be louder...other than that..NO intake for me.

@ zeRep85 I'm not entirely sure about that whole intake being useless after a tune idea of yours. I believe that an intake along with the tune helps balance out the air fuel ratio. It can also help give you a lil boost in hp if I'm not mistaken as well.

drop in and tune ftw
My thoughts exactly. I dont think an Intake would be ideal for our setup
Here you go I found one for you.

OK This is gonna sound stupid and simple , but you guys are aware that our stock intake was designed by Mitsu Engineers and it can supply more air than our stock Turbo is capable of pulling right? It's only after upgrading to a bigger turbo and bigger fuel system that you would even consider messing with the intake. LOL ! Just my 2 cents

Finally another member! Thank you!
Cosworth Drop-in air filter FTW!
+3 with zeRep and Jackal, it's not the intake that's restricting it's the
tiny turbo that our cars come with.
