I've finally decided to replace my stock Advan A10 tires with another brand. I also would like to increase the tire size from 215/45-18 to 225/45-18 at the same time. They'll be mounted on aftermarket 18x7.5 rims.

Does anybody have experience with this size tire? I'm particularly concerned with possible tire rubbing, as the tire will be about 1/2 inch wider. There would be only a little more than 1% difference in circumference, so the speedometer would only be off slightly.

235 will "work" on Stock rims with ease. I am looking at 225-45 for Solo TDS.

@ chessrace I am running 225/40R18 on my RA stock wheels. Yes a slightly lower profile but I have no rubbing issues and I'm lowered 2 inches! I could have gone with the 225/45 or even a 235/45 and still have had no rubbing issues. Either way you should be fine and have no rubbing issues on stock height or if you plan to lower your car; if not already dropped. I can definitely feel that there's better traction/handling with a wider tire. If I was you I'd get the 235 size, either 235/40 or 235/45.
