If I track during a period of oil, I'll change it around 3000. If not, usually a little before 5000. I actually have noticed that I get the most MPGs between 2500-4500. That was in my 04 Ralliart. All my MPGs on my 09 Ralliart can't be taken seriously because it begs me to push the pedal down.

I check my dip stick, @ 3k if its not dark brown I'd keep rolling...
but how I drive it determines when I change the oil with dip stick reference..

Im more worried about SST fluids & LSD additives, etc. thats expensive..
I need to check those, Im at 21K+ miles...

For the transmission, the manual states for regular maintenance schedule to swap the fluid at 60k, for severe at 30k. That's an awfully big swing for $240 bucks worth of Diaqueen... I'm holding out for swapping it at 60k. We'll see.

It's said that fully synthetic can go for up to 7500 miles, but I still change it at around 3000. The compression is always better after a fresh oil change. Hell...if it wasn't so darn expensive, I'd change my oil at 2000 miles! :D

Has anyone changed their transfer oil? How much is Mitsu charging for that? I mean if they charge almost 70 for an oil change i could just imagine that, even though it's just as simple. I just rather take it in to them so they can keep their mouth shut if i ever have any probles under warranty down the road.

Of course you can do it yourself, there's nothing to it! I recommend draining the oil from the pan BEFORE you remove the old oil filter. That will dramatically reduce the oil that is spilled when you remove the old filter. GREAT POST!
