I am looking to black out the chrome and some paint on the front bumper, I keep reading about plasti-dip but it seems to be unavailable in Canada, any other products that work? You other Canadians....I found a vinyl/plastic paint at Canadian Tire, anyone tried that?

i wouldn't paint it. do it like me, take it to the shop and let it wrap it with vinyl . i just paid like USD$120, it looks like oem and you can remove it anytime!

Plasti-dip is USD$5-10 & Plasti-dip is also removable.
If you want I can pick up a can of Plasti-dip for you. But the shipping to Canada is gonna cost more than the can itself. :(

Vinyl has more reflective shine, Plasti-dip is dull matte look.
Depends on your budget & taste.

I just used 1.5" black vinyl tape from the auto parts store, it looked good and held up just fine. It probably took all of 15 minutes to put on.

geargrinder's vinyl solution is the only long lasting nice looking one I have seen mentioned. Also prolly the easist to obtain up in Kanuckistan. Get some semi-gloss sticker material from most any sticker shop.

Your car look's good, I really like your idea. I have been looking for black vinal tape but all I ever see is 1" thick not 1.5" thick. What auto parts store did you go to to get yours?

Thanks

ThanksI got it from Pep Boys. I happen to be there today buying oil, and saw that they had it still in stock. I'm sure the stock for PB's is all the same. Also, thanks.
