I've been following this thread because it is related to our 4b11t engine.

"relay go out at bad times, even the new blue ones...
and will lean out the fuel mixture at WOT as much as 2 points leaner....

wideband would be a good investment to every Evo 10 owner." Bryan@GST

I've heard EVO 8 & 9 vented blocks too.
Idk how people are modding these days but this is one two block too many...
Maybe a good idea for people running high power should consider block reinforcement? sleeves, etc.
Remember everybody our 4b11t blocks are aluminum.

Blocks get holes in them because a connecting rod or a connecting rod bolt fails. Usually it is the rod bolt. The bolt that holds the cap to the bottom of the connecting. When the bolt snaps, the rod is just hanging down there. The crankshaft comes around and the only place for the rod to go is out the side of the block. Lack of reinforcing in the block isnt the problem, holes in your block is a symptom of a failed rod.

4B11s seem to be really pushing their luck on stock pistons and rods up over 370ish torque and 425 hp are really pushing their luck.

On the stock 4G63 the danger zone was over 400 torque and 500 hp.

All the same factors that help the 4B11 make the first 100 horse power more easily compared to the 4G63, also make it come apart at the seams at higher torque and HP levels.
