How to: Remove front bumper
Ok It took me about two hours, lack of proper tools.
10mm socket & wrench (1HOUR LOOKING FOR MISSING 10MM SOCKET) socket extension (half an hour looking for socket extension) Screw drivers (Flat Head & Phillip Head) http://i1169.photobucket.com/albums/...ZLpb/Tools.jpg http://i1169.photobucket.com/albums/...atorShroud.jpg Remove poppers. You can do this by using a flat head screwdriver twisting motion. May want to use cloth at the head of the screwdriver to protect the poppers. Remove the intake snorkle. Remove the radiator shroud. http://i1169.photobucket.com/albums/...ertopbolts.jpg Remove 5 x 10mm bolts & disconnect the fog light plug. http://i1169.photobucket.com/albums/...crewBolt-1.jpg http://i1169.photobucket.com/albums/...WellScrews.jpg Remove the 10mm bolt & plastic screws inside your wheel well. Do this for both driver while wheels are pointed to the passenger side & passenger side while the wheels are pointed to the driver side. :P |

Make sure to turn the wheel to one side to get to the screws & bolt in the wheel well.
I didnt use a jack or lift (which would make this job easier) After bruised knees & elbows. (took 5 min break) http://i1169.photobucket.com/albums/...ottomBolts.jpg Remove 5 x 10mm bolts that hold your splash guard to your front lower bumper. Remove 2 x poppers on each side. ok 4x poppers. http://i1169.photobucket.com/albums/...erNoseBolt.jpg 10mm bolt at the nose of your front bumper on the passenger side. http://i1169.photobucket.com/albums/...rNoseBolt2.jpg another 10mm bolt at the driver side. http://i1169.photobucket.com/albums/...crewsBolts.jpg all the fasteners are having a safety meeting here. Some poppers are different so they hang out in respective location. Top 10mm bolts are shorter than 10mm bolts at the bottom to hold the splash guard. http://i1169.photobucket.com/albums/...b/TeethTab.jpg |

Ok, the tricky part of taking off the bumper.
Pull down a tad bit to clear the nub & pull outward gently (you dont need Hercules strength) http://i1169.photobucket.com/albums/...b/TeethTab.jpg http://i1169.photobucket.com/albums/...erTeethTab.jpg http://i1169.photobucket.com/albums/...thTabHoles.jpg http://i1169.photobucket.com/albums/...hTabHoles2.jpg http://i1169.photobucket.com/albums/...crewBolt-1.jpg |

Ok, this is kinda important to note on 5 x 10mm bolts on top has two metal washer ea. under the mounting points make sure you dont loose them.
They look like this... they are from the second picture from 10mm bolts under the front bumper mounting brackets..easy to lose if you are not paying attention... http://i1169.photobucket.com/albums/...pb/Washers.jpg http://i1169.photobucket.com/albums/...ertopbolts.jpg |

Great pics and write up!
Was there a particular order you pulled out the bolts and poppers and such? Remove all then pop off bumper? |
Poppers first
screws second bolt third Disconnect fog light plug Clearing the teeth tabs x 4 last (careful you dont break anything here.) Just be careful as you remove the front bumper, I didnt need second set of hands although it might be a good idea. On Reassembly pay attention to the white tabs & slots Bottom splash guard must be @ the bottom of the front bumper. (bumper on top of splash guard) So is the wheel well splash guard must be tuck back into the bumper... |
Nice write up.
