It helps keep the rear differential in place when driving hard. When you shift really hard in a high powered car the whole driveline feels that shift, the rear diff in particular. This helps the differential stay grounded and keep traction and power going to the rear wheels.

The SST trans shifts relatively smooth and slips a little bit, so most people will probably not feel a difference. However, if you plan to use this in conjunction with a SSP power package and add some more power to the car you will definitely feel it.
