Gauges go out and car wont allow me to put it into gear.

Hey guys i have a 2012 ralliart, today i parked my car went back to it hours later and when i started it all my gauges lit up and then all went out and my car would not let me go into drive. The car runs fine, its almost like a safty on the car so it wont let me go into drive and all my gauges go out. Anyone have any idea on what i can do?

you may want to try disconnecting the negative battery terminal for a few seconds then replacing the battery in your key and see what that does.

I brought it down to were I bought the car, I was just nervous to cause I bought it brand new and I had done some stuff to the car and didnt want it to void any warrentys. And they said my alternator over charged everything and fried everything. It's under warrenty so it's getting fix for free. New battery, alternator, computer, etc.. Thanks for replying.

Thats a blessing that you were able to get it fixed under warrenty because they dealer is pretty skimppy when it comes to honoring our warrenty.
