Default speaker problem

So yesterday I noticed that all the speakers on the driver side of my car stopped working.I switched the balance all the way to the left and it sounded like static.as if i blew all the speakers on the driver side. The passenger side sounds perfect.I was wondering if that would be under warranty.I have a 2010 with 15000miles.

The speaker has blown out, the connector is loose, or you have a wire(s) that have shorted out. Might be other reasons as well. Should be covered under warranty since it's within the mileage and month range. If they don't want to mess with it, you hound them until they do.

The base model deck if you did not go with the Nav package has a known warranty issue where after only a year or less you lose either left or right channel. Blows a diode or reostat or something. Had my deck replaced under warranty after I checked and metered all speakers, connections and wiring it came down to deck was no longer outputting on terminials for drivers side speakers. Google it yourself and Dealership knows about it but they are not advertising this fact for obvious reasons. You should simply tell them that you had it professionally checked out and that they need to replace the deck under warranty.

thanks a lot guys.I called the dealership and they said it would be covered.Ill go in this week and tell them that it was checked by a shop and the deck is broken.I am worried that the dealership will look at my car and start talking about the mods that void other warrantys.Does anyone think the dealership will start voiding other parts of my warranty that have nothing to do with the problem.tuning.lowered etc?

If they intentionally start snooping around the car to try and find a reason not to work on your car under warranty and they give you BS excuses that aren't even related to the problem... have them look up the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act. The dealership cannot deny your warranty claim should they find other parts of the car modified and has been proven that those modifications were not the cause of the problem. So, they cannot deny the work done to the speaker if they find lowering springs on your car. If they do, they're basically breaking the law... but then again, what dealership doesn't??????
