Ouch! Sry to hear that> you should've taken some pics.
How bad is the damage just plastic bumper? Did it hit your FMIC? Hood? Headlights? Fluid leak? Air bag deployed?

If it just plastic bumper replace front bumper.
So it in the shop & everything is taken car of then?

Damn, sorry to hear that. Good thing it's only a car. Parts can be replaced, cars can be replaced. Lives can't. Good to hear you're ok.

Minivan was stopped at the intersection with the light green. He was unable to pull forward because too much traffic across the intersection.

I didnt realize he was stopped until I was too late. Driving home after work, thinking about other stuff....too comfortable in the driver seat...

I was able to turn the wheel slightly before impact. Majority of the damage is on the right side.

Right light shattered
Steering wheel air bag deployed
Hood bent
Bumper is falling off
Right fender bent
Radiator fluid leak
I/C pretty sure its smashed

Here is the closest pic i got before got questioned and car got towed out of the way

Dude, so sorry to hear! Glad you are alright. I wonder if the body shop will work with you to put aftermarket parts instead of stock stuff?

Thanks everyone!

The insurance says they will pay to repair back to state before impact INCLUDING aftermarket parts if they are not illegal. Body shop says they repair back to stock...i will have TWO stock i/c...

So we will see how it plays out..hoping for the best

Can you just total it & get a new one??
Cause it will have salvaged title, afterward right?
damn that sux!

I've had some close calls too. I ebrake+brake+downshifted keeping the steering straight I came to skid stop. Try to look ahead of at least two-three cars in front of you. Im sure you already know & shit do happens.
At least you got insurance to cover the damage.

The most important thing is that you're alrite.
I feel for you cause your RA is the same color as mine.

Good luck with the insurance, keep us posted...

The salvage title part doesnt really concern me...i was planning on keeping this car a very long time, still do!..

Ideally totalling the car would be the best, but then the issue of $$$ comes into play. Will i get enough to pay my loan and a downpayment on a new one? Or am i going to get the short end of the stick and not get enough $$$ to even pay my loan!

Also the concerns is "once a car is involved in an accident it will NEVER be the same" i think at this point with my plan on modding the car that is my biggest concern.

Luckily everyone was fine. The family in the minivan drove away without any injuries and with slight damage to their vehicle. I, on the otherhand, got seriously burned on my left arm...im thinking airbag going off caused it, but no medical attention was required.

I will keep you guys posted.
