Still love my RA.
Excellent!

I won't worry about babying my RA so much then

I'm almost at 52k and so far, its been running great. That's with a tune from RRE too...

...I'll try to avoid a similar story of totaling this thing. I hope it runs a good long life.

^ I need more specifics as to what's going on with your vehicle.

What failed?
What mods?
What is the dealer telling you?

If Mitsu denied your warranty for a specific reason then you do have a few
different options. However Mitsu has to given you written documentation
as to how your modifications caused the failure. If they fail to do so then
that is considered illegal and possibly punishable under law. They can't
just deny warranty cause you're modified.
In my case the modifications I had installed on my vehicle had nothing to
do with the failure of the vehicle, yet I was still denied warranty. I ended
up filing with the Federal Trade Commission, BAR, BBB, and a Third Party.
I took the dealer to small claims for the amount I had to spend on repairs.
And now I'm working with a third party to have Mitsu buy the car back
since I'm still having issues with the vehicle that are manufacturer related.

Best of luck in court and please keep us posted on the progress of your legal proceedings.

Having just received an out of court settlement on a different type of non-automotive issue, I can appreciate how long things can take to resolve in the legal system.

What mods did you have that Mitsu "claimed" voided your warranty ? I had issues with my 07 Vette's manual tranny a few years ago and GM tried to find ANYTHING they could to deny fixing it. The only thing I had was a CAI and axle back exhaust. They even went the "abuse" route which couldn't have been further from the truth. I'm curious to see how they tried to blame your mods on the timing chain failure.

I should be hearing via mail this coming week as to what the Judge decided. I do have to say that the dealer through me under the bus and claimed that I was racing the vehicle and had modifications I did not. They were claiming that I modified the turbo, had a straight pipe exhaust, and other non true statements. They even went so low as to take pictures of an evo with all sorts of mods and claim that it was my RA. Luckily I had pictures of the installed mods and I even managed to get pictures of the same exact mods being sold at the dealer's parts department. It made the dealer look pretty bad since I was readily prepared. I hope all turns out in my favor.

Well the court results came in and I WON!!! I should be receiving a refund for the expenses paid towards repairs. Now I'm just working to have Mitsu buy the vehicle back under the lemon law. Hope all goes well with that as well.

^ If you're referring to me then the mods would be: cat back exhaust, intake, ic, ic pipes, modified turbo, and tune. I only had exhaust, intake, and ic. When they scanned my car for a flash the result came out negative. Yet they still claimed it to have been modified. Shady people!
